EET considerations for mod-installations?
I intend to have my next run starting with EET (https://www.gibberlings3.net/forums/forum/195-enhanced-edition-trilogy/) installed first, I think.
There is extensive information on the gibberlings forum (I am not active there though), although
some of that information may be outdated by now. Their compatibility thread was started in 2016; not sure how many mods from back then are still actively maintained.
I have a usual list (multitude) of mods I use or install, ranging from older ones with various bugs (Region of Terror) to several more modern ones. Some of these mods state that they support EET; others make no such reference, so I am unsure if they work with EET or not. I also use e. g. Graphical Overhaul, which is a great visual mod, but pretty large.
My first question thus is:
Should EET be installed first, even before mods such as Graphical Overhaul?
My second, slightly more important question is: are there actively maintained mods that are not compatible to EET? Is that a problem when installing things?
Right now I simply don't know the scope of EET. I think I installed it a few years ago and used it but then didn't continue using it for some reason. From how I understood it, EET unifies and simplifies some things for mod-creators, if I recall correctly. The link states that it unifies the saga into one, but I actually (mostly) only play BG2, so I am not even sure how useful EET is if one plays only one game part (not that I mind other game parts, I just haven't tried a continuous play actually; and I think I never played SoD either. Should do that).
Any info from folks who have been using EET would be rather helpful, in my opinion.

Mods that change user interface should not cause any problems of install order, so I've read.
EET is made so that you play the whole saga into one very big game, and that also allow for a huge mod setup also. Even with just EET installed you can expect to start your adventure at level 1 on Candlekeep and end it at the Throne of Baal, without ever needing to import a character from BG1 to BG2, it's just a continous experience.
EET unifies the whole saga, i.e. if you want to experience your party members as continuous with regard to items, spells, and stats, then that is great. Also, if you want to use kit mods on your PC then EET is a safe option, because some kit tables differ between BG:EE and BGII:EE even if you'd install the kit mods in the exact same order, so importing a kitted PC into BGII from a BG1 save is always a risk.
But, EET in itself is a (huge) mod - and with mods, the probability of bugs increases. Thus, if you are planning on playing BGII, do not install EET. It just complicates things.
