Game is crashing

I'm in my first playthrough of Baldur's Gate and plan to go through BG2:ToB with this party as much as I can. I thought I had made a terrible proficiencies mistake 897.1 into playing. I was looking for a way to remedy that. Upon research, I was told that EE Keeper can help be fix that mistake. As it turned out, I was informed by one of the fantastic community members here that it wasn't a error after all. I ultimately made no changes at all to the game.

However, now when I start the game, it crashes. Looking at the crash report, this file comes up: "dump.2.6.6.0.0011.dmp"

What is it , and how do I fix it? Thanks.

Are you talking about oBGII or BGII:EE? EEKeeper would be for the latter only, like the name says it is not for the classic games.
Do all of your saves crash? Can you start a new game? Is the crashing save one you edited with EEKeeper?

Actually, it was for BG:EE. I plan to play through BG:SoD, BG2:EE and BG2:ToB. I'm in chapter 7. I didn't actually edit anything. I downloaded it, to try to fix the problem, but the proficiencies didn't give me anything to edit. So, I posted a question, and learned that I actually didn't make a mistake in the first place. I thought I misallocated proficiencies for Minsc to "two weapon style instead of "two-handed weapon style" but learned rangers came with two points allocated to two weapon style. It's been 4 months since I started this campaign, so I thought I misplaced the points. But, I never edited anything.

What does the dump.2.6.6.0.0011.dmp error even mean?
