I can't help but notice the existence of an NWN2 Enhanced Edition over at SteamDB

Are my dreams coming true?

Isn't Aspyr Media your parent company though? Can you confirm that there are no Beamdog developers working on this thing? That seems like a massive waste of knowledge and expertise. The NWNEE was incredibly well done.

@WarChiefZeke To the best of my knowledge, NWN2 was developed by Obsidian Entertainment. Based on what @mlnevese told me a few years ago, the company had been acquired by Microsoft Gaming Studios. That means NWN2 is a Microsoft Gaming Studios game, now. So, I would speculate that if there is in fact an NWN2: EE being developed, it would probably be either Microsoft or one of its subsidiaries developing it. That would be my best guess.

I liked NWN 2, especially Storm of Zehir where you could actually play with a party. Even the trade aspect of that expansion was interesting (and outside of the ordinary). An EE of that would be really cool!

And both contrary to my speculation and to my surprise, NWN2: EE is being developed by none other than Aspyr Media. Who knew?

@Balrog99 It looks as if you're about to get your wish and then some, my friend. NWN2: EE is being released along with all 3 of its expansions (Mask of the Betrayer, Storm of Zehir, and Mysteries of Westgate) on Steam July 15, 2025. Right now, there is a promotion where you can pre-purchase both EE's of NWN 1 & 2 as a discounted bundle. Or, you can pre-purchase NWN2: EE at a discount if you already own the first. If you've been waiting for just the right time to buy either one or both of these titles, now is the time, Goldilocks.

I hope aspyr will see my post before the release. If they didnt fix what is reported there the buyers of the game will have A LOT of problems:

My request is still there, could it be that people that didnt make the request arent allowed to see it?

That's probably the reason. Would you mind sharing the details of your request? I'm curious to know what it was about.

    This:

Hi, i saw you are releasing NWN 2 enhanced and i'd like to know if you saw this project on github that contains dozens of bugs reported in-game with the main game and its expansions:

The “Wave of Bugs” threads contains dozens of reports with save games and pics to help fix them. I believe this might interest you.

I have a lot to say about NWN2. It has some very high quality, underrated modules, and has some of my favorite build-crafting of any game (ask me why rangers are shockingly op). It was the first to feature a lot of unique races we don't normally see and we were still in the time when they were uncommon, so you had good reactivity to it. You didn't see three tieflings to every one human so people reacted.

We will see where this goes, i'm hopeful.

Okay, I'll bite! What makes rangers shockingly OP? Is it Favoured Enemy plus Bane of Enemies and easy access to One Shot, or am I missing something?

probably ( and especially in SoZ ) you can stack elemental type damage on launcers and ammunition which can rake up damage very quickly

i remember having an arcane archer in early SoZ just annihilating baddies for the same reason, good stuff

    Sorry, I missed this!

Rangers get the wonderful "favored power attack" feat which doubles power attack damage, and *triples* it if you are using a two-handed weapon. This is something you can get by around level 5. You will be one-shotting most of the game.

Now, if you are playing the OC, you can achieve this feat and choose two favored enemies- undead and humans- to use this feat with. For those 5 levels you basically have Weapon Master or Frenzied Berserker levels of weapon damage to 90% of the game.

Oh, and this adds onto weapon master or frenzied berserker damage, so the highest damage caps can be achieved by something monstrous like Ranger/Frenzied Berserker/Weapon master builds. Your power attack will be doubled or tripled by ranger, your critical hits will be multiplied by WM, and FB gives you a flat +12 damage.

Or why not spec into cleric or druid at that point?

I enjoy NWN2 greatly and sadly I can't say i'm interested in the remake at all. NWN2 original already has plenty of mods, custom campaigns, and other content. I find zero-effort re-releases like this insulting, frankly, when you market it as "enhanced" in any way.
