[mod] Dynaheir NPC for BG2EE

I have seen messages every now and then about the possible release of Dynaheir for BG2EE -- all kept in a Khalid BG2EE mod. So, I am ready to announce that... yes. Such mod shall be released.

Dynaheir BG2EE allows players to decide which one of the Rashemaar companions should be available during the Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal campaigns - Minsc or Dynaheir. The decision is made on a new area, to which you need to bring Minsc - there is a new door next to his cage. Free him and let him see what happened to his friend. The mod includes:
- Dynaheir as a playable companion
- Banters with all BioWare/Beamdog companions, interjections
- A friendship path between Dynaheir and the Child of Bhaal, and scenery talks, reactions (SoA & ToB)
- A sisterhood path between Dynaheir and the Child of Bhaal, if she is a non-chaotic evil woman with 10+ Charisma (SoA & ToB)
- A romance path between Dynaheir and the Child of Bhaal, if PC is not in a relationship with any other companion and has shown interest in Dynaheir (ToB-only: in SoA, you will be rejected, but that does not lock the ToB part)
- A total number of 2 major quests and up to 2 minor quests set across the whole game (SoA & ToB)
- An event that may result in changing Dynaheir from an invoker to a diviner
- New temple in Athkatla, as well as a couple of new unique divination spells sold in that temple, and new items
- A new portrait that should match BG2 portraits a bit better than her BG1 portrait.
EDIT: The mod is now released. Furthermore, there is some crossmod content for Dynaheir included in G3 Crossmod Banter Pack.

Nice portrait as well.
Since you‘re also into custom kits for some of your mods, how about adding a special hathran/wychalarn kit for Dynaheir? Maybe for a later update?
Anyways, keep up the good work.
One minor question: is the romance compatible with the one in the BG1 NPC project? (That is, do the SoA + ToB dialogues "make sense" if the PC had been in a romantic relationship with Dynaheir during BG1?)
I assume not, since this one does not start until ToB (and the PC will be rejected in SoA), but I thought I would check so that I know what to install in the future.
Thanks!
With that one, considering she has a specialist mage kit, I am not planning on adding anything unique, just for her, as it would require a change of her original kit. Well, characters I make always have some special flavor I add, but--I don't want to change that character in such a way. There was no problem like that with Faldorn, for example, as she had no kit in BG1.
She can turn into a diviner, though, but that is somewhat connected to her quest and the new area, and while I know this is the weakest of the specialists, I also added like 5 divination spell, introduced by a side character we meet, so while they won't be available during character creation, they may still be purchased from the man that created them + there is a nice new item for diviners as well as one for invokers, so players can still influence Dynaheir and let her check out this new path and they will still get something nice.
As some may know, I am not a fan of BG1 NPC Project. Some of the interpretations that are in the mod I find... odd. It's such a mixed bag, thus I haven't played it for years.
In this mod you may still tell her about the relationship the two of you had, if the BG1 NPC Project variable is detected, but she will tell you that "it feels like a different life now, and a different version of herself", so it's not like you cannot mention it, but...
Truth be told, while you all know I love romances, there should also be a place for other kinds of relationships--Khalid had a short brotherhood path, and Dynaheir gets this sisterhood path. ToB romance is more like a side content, sisterhood is what I would call the more important part of this project. But then again, you may still mention your feelings, it's totally ok, if you do that in a reasonable and appropriate way
I haven't had the opportunity yet to play any of your mods but that doesn't leave me any less excited for the glorious times ahead. Thank you for your continuous hard work to keep this amazing game well and alive.
To eliminate any doubt, I'm guessing you meant to say non-evil woman?
I'm not sure I would recommend playing a beta of a mod on a mega installation.
(...and I wouldn't recommend playing a mega installation at all, especially if you haven't played many mods before, but maybe that's just me...)
One small follow-up question about this:
What does it mean for "the BG1 NPC Project variable" to be detected? I don't use EET, so I usually just import my character from BG1/SoD. Is there some way for the mod to detect (from the character file) that the PC had played through the BG1 romance? (I apologize for my ignorance about such matters!)
Ah I see, interesting. I always thought that Dynaheir could not tolerate evil alignment. I'm interested to see how that plays out.
Yea I know, well the way I play such games at a super slow pace, I just know that I won't be able to try different mods on different runs. So I'm kinda hellbent on seeing as much as possible in one run, knowing full well that I will have to deal with bugs and inconsistencies. At this point I'm addicted to adding as much content as possible. For better or for worse.
@Dyonis -- truth be told, I thought about locking it out for all evil alignments, but there are people like yourself, who cannot just afford playing the game a couple of times a year, thus I decided to only lock it for chaotic evil characters.
I am more concerned that you you have spent hours of preparation to play such mega-installation and you will just won't be able to play it, because there are still mods that were not tried together and things may go "boom". Sometimes it's not just about minor bugs and inconsistencies, but situations when you can no longer progress the story and stuff like that. If you truly want to risk, then at least ask people at G3, for example, to check your choice of mods and/or installation order... Cheers! Good luck!
May i have a suggestion/question - what about her old english style mannerism? I think it would be nice to get rid of that or at least diminish. I am using bg1npc mod and usually it is just as if letters would fly around without any meaning or purpose.
And least she will get content for BG2 too!
Damn, I wish I could play a beta of this mod...
sounds awesome! thank you for replying!
As an aside, I agree that the BG1 NPC Project is a bit of a mixed bag. But the Shar-Teel and Dynaheir romances were well done, IMO.
I think this one should match BG2 pretty well, I think it may stand out a bit in BG1/SoD
Sure, you're welcome!
I'm eager to try her out...
