    Allright.

    I did a bit of dawdling with Google AI and Gemini. I got myself a fair bit of AI portraits made. Some hate them, some don't, and some want them outright abolished. Well, in any case, judge for yourself about the quality. I think they look rather decent. The AI has certainly evolved since a prompt about creating a portrait like these a few years back would have resulted in a face resembling a potato with 13 eyes.

    Sure, some of them might be a bit outside the so-called "Baldur's Gate portrait style", but they are not bad in my humble opinion.

    I've also been fecking about with some Icewind Dale styled portraits as well, so who knows, maybe I'll ship one of those off as well. Anyways, the folder is split into male and female due to size. There is a slew of portraits to each gender and I also included a few extras with Mages with Stoneskin, Druids about to shapeshift and so on and so forth.

    Try them out... or not. That's the beauty of free will.

    Hi !
    Even though I personally don't use AI to create my portraits (though I have no qualms about using pre-generated AI portrait parts), but I think your Sarevok is cool ^^

    It reminds me a little of a portrait, inspired by Sarevok, that I created.

    Here it is:
    9vxx0tgmlnx5.bmp

    This one is fairly recent (1 or 2 years old) but I have others that are older that I'm trying to recreate here:https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/90457/custom-christmas-portrait-and-more-for-celebrating-25-years-of-bg2#latest

    I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who take the time to share their tests, creations, modifications, and other work with us.

    A very big thank you ;p

    Oh yeah, it feels really weird... Thanks ^^
    But I love my version too much anyway, and I'm too much of a purist to use it myself

    Of these two, I prefer the first except that I'm not fond of the "moon?" in the background. However, both are good.

    I particularly like the horns, but not keen on the nose ring.

    Took the blackguard from here;

    https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/32457/suggestions-for-a-female-blackguard-pic/p2

    Added a different background and changed the eyes. So easy with AI.

    Thanks. So often with good portraits, Reverse Image comes up with countless results. I prefer a natural background, preferably one that adds atmosphere. I got this one from the cover of a Kindle Book, but the artist has the pseudonym Rien.

    Another attempt with yeri AI, this time using NWN female elven Archer as template;

    Didn't get the bow right, looks more like a wooden staff... :|

    Bows are always tricky with AI. The bowstring is rarely portrayed correctly. Part of it us usually hidden when it shouldn't be or vice versa. :/

    If you're using an AI that allows multiple reference inputs you can help the situation a little by adding a good image of a bow, maybe even an archer especially if you can find an image in the general pose you want.
    But yeah, as @Wise_Grimwald said, bows (even worse, crossbows) are tricky for an AI.

    I got this image of Skie

    vujbscdj34f8.jpg

    by adding this image of a bow to another reference image I was using of Skie.

    5tf5f5k1qeb3.jpg

    Obviously it still isn't perfect. The extra string is then edited out with Microsoft Paint (a range of editing software could do it)

    Ok, thx for the advice. Might try this out for my next attempts with Emily. I‘m still not satisfied with the outcome so far.

    This is what I got from copilot. When the bowstring was incorrect, I instructed the AI to move it to the correct position. i.e. To go from one of the bow to the other and to be hidden by the arm holding the bow. Further modification could be made by giving even more precise instructions.
    With AI, your instructions have to be precise!
    With experience, AI will eventually get the hang of how to do it!

    Improved the bowstring slightly, but now run out of edits for today.

    Nice! At first glance it looked as if the bowstring lies on her arm, but that seems to be an optical illusion.
