    The pre-download will make so that all we need is a relatively small file to download on Nov. 28th. Then we can play.

    @shredstallion the pre-download is to ensure pre-orderers can download the game prior to release to avoid overloading the servers on release day. The game will be playable from the 28th at the latest.

    I wonder if the pre-load will let us preview any game assets, like character portraits and sound sets, am interested to see how the new ones look, if some of them are good, might use one for my female elf fighter/mage I want to use for my first run-through...

    I don't think the pre-load will have the new portraits. We don't even have them in the beta build.

    It's called pre-downloading. It's used to avoid the crush of traffic on release day.

    I imagine that they are going to want to be in the office, able to monitor things, before they enable pre-load. If that's true, they're not going to "flip the switch" until the morning of the 22nd -7 UTC. That's 8-12 hours from the time that I post this.

    That means from 11-15 uk time. :)
    Im at work atm doing a night shift.. ill go back home at 8am,sleep my usual 4-5 hrs and when i get up i should have the magic email ready in the box :p

    I wasnt waiting the release of a game like this from years... feels so nice getting excited again (even if sadly,nowdays is so rare regarding videogames market.. :/ )

    @PhillipDaigle I don't want to be "that guy" but, if there is any, what is that extra announced when BGEE release date was delayed?
    Somehow the UI looks much nicer to me now, but if mods are easy to install I may try some other UIs too... (the gold buttons).
