Game Crashes at Launch

So I've been able to open Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition before, but now every time I open it, I just get a crash dump file. As far as I know everything is well within the necessary minimum launch requirements.

    Go to your documents folder, find the "Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition" entry and rename it. Try starting the game after that and it should create a new folder. If the game works from that point there is likely an issue with either the ini file or something in the portraits / save folders which you can find by copying back some at a time.

    Please could you confirm whether this helps you or not so it can either be closed off or investigated further.
