baldursgate.com has got a redesign. How do you like it?

On January, 30, I've checked that http://www.icewinddale.com had been changed. Now, http://www.baldursgate.com has gotten a complete redesign as well.

Among other things, the new site mentions the Adventure Y:

"This year, the eagerly anticipated Adventure Y will finally navigate the dark underground caverns of development and venture out into the Sword Coast. We’ve mentioned before that Adventure Y will be an addition to the Baldur’s Gate line using the Infinity engine, bridging the gap between Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition. Keep an eye on the Beamblog in late spring for announcements regarding the content and release date of Adventure Y. We have an exciting release planned for this game, something bigger than we’ve ever done before. If you’re looking for more information on Adventure Y, check out these pictures which were mysteriously leaked to the forums."

So, do you like the change of the site? What's your opinion?

    I like the artwork of Baldur's Gate and I like that now we can see it on the site in a large resolution.

    Those skulls...

    It takes much more time to load, so I'm partial.

    Edit: definitely looks better. And definitely takes much more.

    Thanks for the feedback. I'll get the load time down a bit. ;)

    It feels more cluttered to me than the original design...

    Also, Kevin Michael Richardson.

    I’m afraid that I’m going to have to agree with some of the other PC users here. It feels a little clunky and unpleasant to my eyes.

    Well the website doesn't appear to load for me. So maybe they are working on it.

    @bengoshi change the link at the top of the page so it has www in it. Otherwise it doesn't work for me.

    @elminster It should auto-forward to www. What are you seeing instead?
  • elminsterelminster Member, Developer Posts: 16,315
    @BenArledge

    http://icewinddale.com auto-forwards. But http://baldursgate.com leads me to this.

    image

    Under details it says

    The server at baldursgate.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Google Chrome from accessing the network.

    Also I don't know if I'm a fan of this. it looks a bit "hipster". Its not that I don't like the design, but I think something a little more classic would be better for BG. maybe the original BG1 GUI? ;)

    It is good to renew the design from time to time. Congratulations for that.

    Just a little comment.
    I think it would be better if you could eliminate the double overlay created by the "dark highlighted" text.
    This is what I currently get on win8.1 - both 1920*1080 and 2560*1440 - with both firefox and IE latest versions :

    I think it looks great. Very slick and good consistency across the websites!

    I like.

    It can get a bit funky when zoomed though... Blind people like me can cope though...

    Love the new design. It takes less clicks to get to what you want, which is almost always a good thing.

    I also like the update on the D&D logo. That 4e logo was terrible, the new one is much better.

    @Musigny The overlay on the testimonials should be spaced properly now.

    Not yet Sir.
    The overlapping zone is thinner but it is still visible. (latest FFox 1920x1080 if that matters - and let me know if you want me to check it on other platforms/hw).

    @BenArledge:

    Looking at http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/39948/hard-copies-of-ee#latest and similar discussions that are becoming quite common here, I think it would be a good idea to post some information about where one can buy the boxed version of BGEE on the site.

    The fact there're indeed boxed versions of the game has been officially confirmed by Trent Oster:
