Peril protections by divine spellcasters in BG

I wanted to get an overview of what my divine casters can actually do for me in terms of negations of, and protections from, various ill effects.
I decided to trot through the spell books of my high level cleric and druid and jot down their abilities in a spread sheet.

Here's the result:

How much do people actually use these more specific protective spells?

I know it's totally feasible simply to rely on protection from magic potions and scrolls in the tougher fights. I'm just starting to feel that these items are too good. They protect against basically everything magical and don't leave much tactical thinking about when to apply what protections.

That's why I'm starting to look into these more specific 'corner case' spells.

Basically, your cleric or druid can be protected more or less from anything except for spells taking down your protections (and this is their weakness).

I guess that becomes an issue in BG2, but I've never seen it happen in BG1
