cat fur everywhere was coalescing into catfur golems, and the golems have rebelled against the cathair donors which hath created them by ensuring kittens doing aerobics have milk-soaked fur, which any archmage can tell you is not able to spontaneously generate hair golems...what's not clear about that?!
