    Actually they have a use. It's easy to identify a moderator by the boo with a flamethrower badge, for instance.

    Yes, it is easier than the lighter grey backgrounds

    And easier than the "Roles: Moderator" tag on your profile.

    Just scroll through all the other clutter on a person's side bar to know if they are a moderator or not.
