HLA - Power Attack Revision (Idea)

A Power Attack allows the warrior to strike blows so forceful that gains a bonus of 10 to damage, but one’s THAC0 suffer a 5 point penalty. The ability lasts for 2 rounds.

    Why would you ever take it over Critical Strike, which is only one more up the same 'skill tree', also boosts damage and guarantees accuracy rather than penalizing it?

    Because Critical Strike only lasts 1 round while this ability lasts 2 rounds. And you don't have to choose to use one or the other. You could use Power Attack and then cast Critical Strike on the next round, and you'll have both of them active for a round.

    Critical Strike Requires: Power Attack?
    Critical Strike
    A high-level warrior's intimate knowledge of vital spots on opponents allows to, once per day, concentrate all of the attacks in one round to strike a vital area every time. With this ability, every attack roll made in the next round is a natural 20, a critical hit.
