@Azureblaze@The_Guilty_Party - I can completely understand what you mean by the skull being distracting so close to UI elements. However, I've been playing with it like this for a few days now and you don't notice it after awhile. I'm still undecided about whether I will keep it in the final version or not. Thanks for the feedback. Beta coming soon...
I wouldn't mind if you leave them in. Then based on feedback you could always come out with an update with them removed, or have a separate version with them removed maybe; if enough feedback is received about them?
@Azureblaze - I'm all about feedback and if it turns out to be that more people would prefer it without the skull I will have a separate version. The first few days I created the GUI mod were without the skull it was a later addition. It's nice either way. Thanks again for the input.
Archaic HD BETA 1.0 GUI Mod for BGEE has been released. If you're interested in testing it out please feel free to download. Download link is on the first post of this thread. Please leave your feedback to help improve further development. Thank you.
@Mathsorcerer "Aren't the GUI files .bam or something like that? I *used* to have a really decent .bam editor but that was years ago and when I tried to get an updated version it didn't work anything like the one I had back then so I got rid of it. Are there better tools out there? I don't know since I stopped looking...."
Thought we would move over to my thread...
I can't tell you if there are better tools per say but I do know the tools I use work alright. It can be frustrating at times but thats more due to my lack of experience and knowledge about the infinity engine. I'm learning more and more each day which means its getting more and more enjoyable each day. I use DLTC Editor Pro v7.1 for viewing, editing and creating BAM files.
@Magevil - ah so, now DLTCEP I have. In fact, I couldn't do half of what I do without it! I have never used it for .bam editing, though, so I see what my weekend project is going to be.
@Magevil I tested it and it works great. It's a bit too yellow for my taste, but that is a matter of opinion. I am sure others will like it just fine.
Edit: It also seems a bit too "noisy" (too many patterns). Seems to draw the eye from the main game screen. Just my observations.
Edit 2: One final observation, it looks better in the non-scaled GUI (I tried both). However, the noise is still a bit much. Part of the yellow comes from that light yellow (or gold) outline boarder. Did you make that or is that from the game? If it is from the game, any chance you'll be changing that later? Making that a more subdued color would look good.
Indeed a little bit too yellow, especially at night. Maybe adding a brown or grey filter on it could be better ? i dont konw if it's possible (i absolutely dont know how works modding on BG)
Do you project to do the same work wiht inventory screen/save screen etc... ?
@Seldar I updated it with much less yellow and yes I do plan and modding the other screens. Thanks for the feedback. Let me know what you think of BETA 2.0. Updated screenshots...
@Magevil, would it be possible for you to post lists of the .mos and .bam files for each screen and what they do/where they fit? This would be super useful for other modders in the future, and I don't believe such a resource exists at the moment.
I don't like to download unfinished mods just to see them, cause i know i will have to delete them moment later. But that's ok, i will wait till full release and then see by myself.
@Etamin - Scaled screenshot is up. That is really too bad. The whole point in BETA is for you to test it out and give me feedback so you can have some input in the final version.
@Magevil Thanks for screenshot. Ok, i will try to install beta after i return home from work and give you some tips. But since not all tabs are done i will not use it for now.
Don't work... I unzip all files in override directory... C:\games\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\Data\00766\override I have a 22" monitor with resolution 1680x1050 Any idea?

Hmm well i think that the ui is made in 1920x1080 resolution, so if you can change your resolution to that or something close to it, that may help :-)

Don't knock it before you try it, as they say!
