(No fewer-monsters-are-spawning-in-the-game bug fix? No Multiplayer-freezing-because-the-advertised-but-not-included-new-movies fix included? No fix-for-characters-not-doing-what-you-told-to-them, AI-overrides-the-orders-included? These 3 bug was the most important for me. Hoping for the new patch then.)
I will wait with the installation of this patch, don't want Journal or Sound problems. Waiting for confirmation if these problems really appeared with this new patch.
Really good to see so much coming out so quickly. This patch has made my game run sooo smoothly now, when before it suffered from lag (the whole intel thing).
I've posted this somewhere else, but thought here might be more useful - it says in the lead post that the patch fixed Neera being busy and not rejoining the party, however, in my game it still says 'Neera has nothing to say to you' if I talk to her in the Friendly Arms Inn.
Maybe because of the patch: The louncher does NOTHING, when I want to start the game. Only the Frame of the window pops up, but you can see though it... Any idea? How to re-install the louncher?
Using winXP 32-bit and the stand-alone-louncher. Had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM with the game before...
Just a quick note: I'm forwarding all of the crash dump files I receive, and they're very helpful in terms of figuring out what's causing people's issues, as well as discovering solutions.
That said, I'm afraid that I won't be able to send out responses to everybody as I have been so far. I would if I could, but (perhaps thankfully) the number of people who have been sending me their stuff has increased substantially. This is a good thing, because it tells me that people are reading the announcements, but unfortunately I don't have time to send out confirmation messages. Suffice to say that if you've sent in some dmp files, I've forwarded them on.
If you have any questions, feel free to send those over. I'll try to answer as well as I can (although I'm not a developer, I'm not a member of the Overhaul team, and I know next to very little about computers).
Thanks to everyone for your continued patience, -Dee
That I couldn't say. It has something to do with the way the languages work, so hopefully soon. Check back for patch 1.0.2010; the numbered patches are the ones with the "big" fixes in them.
In order to fix things more efficiently, the developers have asked that .dmp files be brought to their attention. A .dmp file is important for finding the source of a crash, which then makes preventing future crashes easier.
If your game crashes, the game now creates a .dmp file under Documents\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\crash
With one of my computers that is crashing when I try to run BG:EE, the folder C:\Users\Name\Documents\My Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition, in which the crash folder should appear, is not being generated during installation. I know this issue belongs in the Windows PC Support forum, and I have posted about it there. But thought it might be worth mentioning here too.
Still no sound using SPDIF or Optical out, can you fix that please. I want to play the game!! ARGG!
Isn't that something you can manage with your sound drivers? I'm using optical out to a reciever and 5.1 (it only stereoizes though for this game) and it works fine.

The update says it fixes memory leaks, so for those on Intel integrated systems you should update ASAP.
Wanting to bust out of work to play, but don't want to get unnecessarily excited if it isn't working just yet
reinstall the launcher like you would for any other program? Uninstall and reinstall from beamdog.com
