Where I can sell bandit scalps since Officer Vai has hit the road? I tried Feldepost's and he isn't buying.

I complained about this change in another thread. The current answer is nowhere at all. It used to be possible to sell them in Feldepost's, but that option has been removed by the current patch (wrongly in my opinion).

    You can't after chapter 3.

Unless they "fixed" this you can keep Officer Vai around by always keeping one bandit scalp in your inventory when you sell them to her - as long as you still have a scalp in inventory she doesn't give her farewell speech at least thats how it worked in Vanilla and I'm fairly certain it's still working now as I have had a couple characters move on to chap 4 and she has not given her good bye speech to any of them.

Unless you have a low reputation when you first talk to her, in which case she attacks you immediately and you can't sell any scalps at all.

There should be someone you can sell Flaming Fist scalps to...

I thought you could sell them at high hedge?

I think the last patch changed it so only Officer Vai buys them.

I find that rather odd because Vai herself says that she convinced some other merchants to buy the scalps as well... Why was this changed?

Here's what happened: Officer Vai used to accept everything in the miscellaneous category due to a limitation with item types in the original game. However, she also paid twice as well, so in patch 2012, bandit scalps were placed in their own category while Vai's store was changed to accept only that category. This caused every other store to no longer accept them.

I've registered this as a bug.

That would explain why I was able to make a killing selling wyvern heads to her!

IIRC Nashkel Store used to buy some miscellaneous items. There was certainly someone else who bought the heads, though I can't remember who.

IIRC Sorcerous Sundries buys wyvern heads ?

Hehe, you can sell their helmets anywhere. It seems they are in higher demand than bandit scalps.

  • Alternately, once the bandit camp is taken out, the bounty for bandit scalps is phased out as well, since it is no longer necessary to help keep the roads clear.

    Point:
Yeah, no offense but with the amount of money available in game this seems like a non-issue. If you don't like it, mod in a fix.

    Counterpoint:
This makes the game unplayable for me, as well as my friends. I urge everyone to spam email Beamdog asking for their money back.

I've never liked how the whole scalping business works anyway. I'd prefer if you accept the quest from Officer Vai then you can scalp the scalps. Otherwise you never see them. My lawful good monk won't be interested in scalping.

Tickets are too easy to get in the Forgotten Realms to be concerned about scalpers or scalping...

Because they are SCALPS of dead guys. Who wants that?

People who can guarantee they can sell them for a quick and easy profit?

This bugged me too. It didn't really seem like good characters would be out scalping people.

Yep, I usually skipped the scalping as well. How would Officer Vai know "Oh that clump of bloody hair and skin is clearly from a criminal" and I'm not just some lunatic.

I have come to the conclusion, a long time ago, that all shopkeeper are secretly Psions with Telepathy as their primary discipline. They just read your mind and see if you're telling the truth.

Man, I've been carrying around a bunch of scalps with me for quite a while, good to know I can just drop them. I don't think I ever met officer Vai, so I was very confused when all of a sudden I was scalping my victims for no reason.

I'd like to know this too. Vai took off north already (did sell a lot to her) but since then got waylaid a number of times by bandits and have the scalps to get rid of. Ignore them from now on like I do regular arrows?
    :)

You may want to weave them into a nice ground cloth for those nights you end up outside...or a a quilt for Gramma maybe?

What do you do with bandit scalps when Val hasn't shown up yet? I've been waylaid by bandits a lot, not mention finding them in high hedge, etc. Haven't reached chapter 3 yet with this character. Guess I'll have to stash them in a barrel or something, (all 30 of them! And no, haven't gone near bandit camp.). Who cares if it attracts flys? :D

Charname: "See, Imoen? Now we can afford a Remove Curse spell for that belt you put on yesterday."
    Imoen: "I hate you."

:'D! In stitches. Wait, nevermind, those are muscle pains.
I suppose you could EE Keeper them out of your inventory and alter your gold to reflect the price? :x???
  • CaptRoryCaptRory Member Posts: 1,660
Wouldn't even need EEKeeper. (Maybe rename it to KEEper?) Just throw them on the ground or in a crate and add money in with the console.
