Who do you let the Nereid give the kiss of death? (SPOILERS)

I'm talking about the one in the coastal area below Candlekeep. I usually let Imoen kiss her, and it looks quite funny to Imagine Immy trying to avoid a kiss. =D

My lowest hp non spell caster. Easier to heal back up, doesn't lose memorized spells. Usually Imoen, she likes the girl on girl action.

    Khalid.
Then watch Jaheira jealous wrath kill him again.

With an evil party (my current assassin play-through...very fun by the way), Kagain. That way when he gets raised, he can regenerate back efficiently (I continue the questline with the idea that charname sees a good opportunity to kill a potentially powerful creature that he can benefit from...being nice to a beautiful sea nymph might be useful too...I did end up killing her afterwards anyway),

Although that's not the case, I wonder if tough npc's would say "back off" to the kisser ...

As i play solo or dou most of the time, i always pick up Kivan on the way over to the sirene so that he can get the kiss. I actually don't think i have had anyone kiss her other than Kivan the last years.

Whoever has the least stuff in the inventory, so I can have them pick it up quickly, get a heal and rush right at the ogre. Often it's Dorn because he has only his Rancor and can quickly energy drain to heal a bit.

Shar-Teel. She seems like she might swing that way, occasionally at least.

Anyone except the main character, mages and clerics (druids): when they die and then come back to life they lose their additional bonus spells from the rings (because the rings are on the ground) so that you have to arrange them once more and rest. I don't like to rest often - try to do it less frequently for RP reasons.

And afterwards I always go to the surgeon that is a little bit to the south on the same area - he can totally cure a character with 1 HP left after the resurrection by the Nereid. Very useful indeed.

I almost always kill the Nereid. It gives 5 000 XP IIRC.

To get 5 000 XP you can not only kill her at once.

You can talk to her, complete her quest, kill the mage, get the reward from her, and when she's leaving quickly kill her.

Though I find this way too cheesy for me. I find killing her when you first see her cheesy too because she isn't an enemy, she wants to talk with you. If you play like it's your first time (RP), killing her in such circumstances seems unjust.

Safana. I don't like her personality and usually get Vicky as the Veronica archetype (Betty and Veronica, Maiden and Seductress...you get the idea) She is usually brought only to be killed.
And I imagine Safana would not be reluctant on a hot girl on girl action. :-)

There's a million ways to RP it, though. Having been brought up in Candlekeep it's not impossible your character has read about and grown suspicious of such creatures. Especially in a no reload-no rez completing the quest is quite expensive.

That's what I always do as well. Great little earner early in the game - that 5000 EXP is massive at that point, and the helmet you get for the quest is very nice as well.

I let my weakest character die, since they won't be in the main fight and I don't use a cleric in BG1.

I think my RP justification is fine. It's probably a bit more CE than NE (NE being his alignment), but killing a Nereid is pretty self-serving...considering how dangerous they are. I certainly would never trust them. I don't think I'd buy her "the ogre mage made me do it" story either. Also, sometimes an assassin Bhallspawn just gets the urge to kill things...
