Why did the Bhaal-symbol change in ToB?

In BG and BG2 we hade the original symbol: A skull with glowing eyes surrounded by the tears of Bhaal.
But after you have visited hell it all changes...
In Throne of Bhaal the tears have been changed to a claw that grips the skull.
Why this change without an explanation?
Anybody who knows?

...and suddenly during a great war: Hey lets re-decorate and give this dead god a new logo!

So, the original symbol seems right.
But the Charname has taken some Bhaal tears so that the poor god has lost them... On the second symbol you see the Charname's talons grabbing the power of his father. It's a strong hint the new power is coming.
A Bhaal in the hand gathers no moss... or some such.
...
Never mind...
Sperm! Only one gets the prize!
They are in both pictures... Longer in ToB...
*hangs head in shame*
Each of the talons is like a mini crescent moon further emphasising the 'moon blood' theme and the red eyes signifying PMT - there are 12 tears representing 12 calendar months of faerun. Each representing one moon cycle and chance of reproduction.
As the character murders their way through the games the tears ultimately dry up as they return to the source (egg) which is Bhaal (the father). In this way Bhaal is both his own mother and father and the charname is essentially enabling it and is thus a surrogate dead god penis.
All in all Baldurs Gate has a deep narrative component about trans-queer-gender role reversal, death & rebirth and god spunk.
Note he looks angry in the first logo, but happy in the second.
This message was brought to you by pedantry; "What? I'm just saying..."
To maintain relevance, I didn't know what it was that irked me about the ToB cover design until this thread. Thanks @SamuelVarg. I prefer the old one and I don't know why it was changed.
