Well, I would have loved to have sent you guys some but my hard drive fizzled. Me being the genius that I am, I didn't have my save files backed up. (Insert facepalm and community ridicule here). As soon as I get my new computer I'll help however I can, though!

I just started using Google drive 2 weeks ago. For $5 a month I back up 100gb of family photos, videos, school work, and baldurs gate save files!
maybe I am asking too much... but I try... there will be some change on druid spells in this new patch? I ask because I like druids very much, but the selection of spells in the first BG is kind of poor...
and another question: how do I know if the save I sent it was good? it was xp uncapped, and probably I installed the tweak pack long ago. If it's a good save game I have 3 or 4 more to send!

It loaded fine, but the tests are only useful to us if the saves are clean. If you don't have any clean saves that's okay, we'll get there, it just might take a little longer.
Will the new multiplayer service which is to come with the next patch make use of a NAT Traversal server? (Meaning a server which you connect to transparently like to a VPN server to circumvent NATs)
Without it, 3G/4G players will likely not be able to play.

Yes.
NICE! Then count me in the open MP beta. (I got LTE/4G only because I live in a very rural area)
Wouldn't it make sense to do this thing in a more staggered way. Ie. give us the details what you want from us for the hardware compatibility part already. So when you finish the save thing you already got big pile of hardware "thingies" waiting to be tested.
Ok, 4 saves sent. - Clean game (I just deleted and redownloaded it to make sure than no mods are left) - Just one thing, Alaric the Paladin made the tutorial before starting his aventuring life, and kept some equipement with him. Does it affect the tests ?
Big thanks to all of you at Beamdog, it's a pleasure to journey with Minsc, Bouh, Imoen, and all the company again.
I'm running the Steam version - would a save from that be acceptable?
Have to say it's a depressing state of affairs that this is the first real transparency we've seen, and that a full year later we're still waiting on Android. BG2:EE for Android in 2016?

Steam saves should work fine, as long as they're "clean" (not modded or edited).
Android turned out to be a much more complicated implementation than we anticipated. It's still something we're working on actively (and a lot of the improvements in this patch are stepping stones toward that goal), but there's unfortunately not a lot to report in the way of Android "news".
Just sent another 15... and that's all I got. There's a couple from Candlekeep in there but I think most are from later on. Would it help if I started generating more saves from later chapters or would that just be redundant?
hm, i changed alignment of the PC with EEkeeper at one point. would those saves still qualify?
With the way EE Keeper currently works (v1.0.1, which is mostly just Aaron's code), no. EE Keeper makes a lot of assumptions about what should be the default value for a particular thing - this is mostly due to Aaron having a number of things listed as the wrong data type, which, in turn, is because he didn't have access to the most up to date information on the file type. For example, a dual class character should have a bitwise flag set depending on what the first/original class was, this information wasn't available to Aaron when he first made Shadow Keeper. Because of that, the value for the character flags (dual classing and other things) is set to 0x80 (if I recall, it was a byte value rather than a DWORD, with the other three bytes going unaltered), which actually ruins dual classing. That's only one example.
Even without changing anything other than the alignment, EE Keeper will write certain default values to the save game; thus replacing the actual values. The save game will no longer be suitable if you have used the current version of EE Keeper (or Shadow Keeper using the long-winded work around of copying and pasting).
(This has since been addressed in EE Keeper and will be made available once BG2:EE is released)
That also applies to anyone else who might ask or has asked, too. @Dee, any chance you could amend the original post with a more specific message about modded saves? Does that apply to save games where mods have been used, or just editors such as EE Keeper or NearInfinity to modify the save game, or both? (I'm assuming both, but it never hurts to ask)
If your save happens load correctly and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with it, then it's fine, even if it's from a modded game or if you've edited it extensively with EE Keeper.
If, however, your save crashes when it's loaded, then we have to spend time isolating the cause of that crash. If it's from a clean game, then that's time well spent because it helps to identify something going wrong in the game. if it's from a modded game, or if it was edited with Keeper, then we end up wasting a lot of time investigating something that isn't really a problem. We won't know which case it is just by looking at it; only after investigating it heavily will we be able to identify that, yes, this save has been edited, or yes, this save is from a modded game.
So doing anything to your game outside of what the game itself allows, such as installing mods or editing saves, could be okay, or it could mean hours of wasted development time.
For this reason, we ask that you only send us saves from a clean install. Official hot-fixes are acceptable, but they are the only exception.
On the subject of Auto/Quick/Final saves--it's a naming issue. If we have thirty-five saves named "Auto-Save", we have to go through each one and rename it so that it won't be overwritten. Again, it takes time, which means that other things end up having to wait.
So if all you have are Auto-Saves, load one of them up on your machine and save it "properly" with a unique name. That way when you send it to us, we can load it directly into our queue for testing.
Hopefully that clears things up a bit. We're up to nearly 350 now; we may reach 400 by the end of today!

Do you guys need me to start 400 new games and send them to you? 'Cuz you know, I really want that beta to be out.
But keep them coming! We're making some great progress, here!
Keep sending your save games in ladies and gents!

Maybe I can help with the hardware tests?
I would like to send you saves but I only play edited saves.

...And we're running out of saves to test! Send us your saves!
Preferably saves post-Chapter 1; we've gotten plenty of Candlekeep saves, but not a whole lot from the latter portions of the game. Keep 'em coming!
What if u load ur Quick Save and save it under a different name?)))
Don't know though if it's okay for testing or not.
