I believe someone's looking at that as well. This is sort of the first time we've been able to do anything with the Steam page beyond looking at it in wonder (and the situation still isn't ideal, but it's getting better), so it's going to take some time to fix up everything.
Patch 1.2 live on Steam ladies and gentlemen! Congrats to the good folks at Beamdog. That was quick. Now to reinstall the game due to all those mods I had.
It should work just fine. Not all of the fixes will take effect until you start a new game, but with very few exceptions your game should work without any problems.

Really ?! wohoooo. I'm so HAPPY!. C'mon guys It's Party time free beer for all!
Finally could take a first look at the Patch ,especially at somethings that always bugged me in my Version:
- Thank you for finally fixing the german Character creator. Now i too can enjoy a Dragon Disciple and a shadowdancer. - The German Voices are now added.that brings back some memories....mostly because you got the original recording and the dubbings back then where really really bad that it was funny.
Which brings me to a question: While its nice to have the german voices now ,is there a way i can make it like it was before the Patch? German Text and English voices? Don't get me wrong ,the people who spoke the German dialogs for Dorn and Neera did a very fine job. Its just that i already fell in love with the way the original english voices sounded in my first playthrough.
The game crashes after update on Steam. Doesn't work loading a save game or start a new one... I get those errors, and if i click ok i get the second one then the 3rd. Any help?

I'll start a new game to see all the new goodies but I have one game in progress that I'm just reluctant to quit. Good to know that I can continue it at a later date.

Thanks for getting the patch to us Steam users. Re: Beamdog pushing the patch onto Steam, is this likely to be the way patches on Steam are dealt with for future BG:EE and BG2:EE patches? Or is this still being mulled over? Off to play some v1.2

Love you guys! I'm glad you're finally up and running on steam. BTW the problem seem to be there on BG2EE too. As a final note I hope you guys add your future games to steam as well so I can show them off there~

This is definitely something we're looking at as a possibility, but it's going to take some time to figure out how feasible it is.
Okey, It's for me just impossible to play cause there is a bug i guess. Whenever you start/create a new game or load an old save, the game will crash with this error:
./sql_compiler.c(1021): [Not Exists] Cannot find column´time_recieved´ on table´quests´.
@ayuno Are you using a portrait pack? If so, check in Documents\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\portraits and look for a file called "BGEE.sql". If you find it, delete it.
Just came to say what an amazing job you've done with this patch. I've never had so much fun creating a new character. So many options to choose from. Went with Shadowdancer in the end but at least five more characters are on my to play list.
Little touches like new biography, introduction text before chapter starts, better explained proficiencies, sleek new UI. I've just started Candlekeep and can't even begin to discover everything you've changed for the better. This is the game I've imagined when I first heard of the Enhanced Edition. I think I'll go mod free for this run. It would be a shame to not see the game as you've made it. This patch was definitely worth the wait.
Thank you very much guys and gals! I know I've been harsh with you before, but after fixing the game so good, you deserve only accolades. Off to the Sword Coast with me! And I have work in the morning...groan.

@Mermidion That's quite easy to do it on your own:
go to the language directory for texts, in your case, lang\de_DE
rename data as data_de (contains all NPC sounds)
rename sounds as sounds_de (contains sounds for main character)
rename movies as movies_de (starting movies)
start the game: all sounds will default to English now
If you want parts in german, keep one of the directories unchanged. If you want to use sounds from another language, you'll have to wait as german is the only alternative for now. ;-) Otherwise, it would simply be a matter of copying the data and sounds from that other language into lang\de_DE.
Is there a problem with Lothander? I spoke to him after diviner (he initiated it) but he is NOT at Blade & Stars. And that quest must be completed to survive. What do I do? I have the Geas scroll.
My copy still isn't updated. It's still showing 1.2014. I even did a "verify integrity", and got nothing. Before anybody asks, yes, I did check the update options.
EDIT: For fuck's sake, NOW, it's updating. I went in and out the game several times, and it took being online for over 20 minutes before it decided to randomly do it.

How compatible is 1.2 with save games from previous versions?

Hopefully release of bg2 ee goes smoother as well And now its for a full baldur's gate weekend!
Well seeing as it was so before the patch i guess it surely could be possible.right?
Anyway thank you for looking into it. As much as i like the german text to read, i love the english Voices to hear.
