@Dee On a post you made under the "Update List" thread on 10/25 you have a pic there showing the new window for the custom portraits. The portrait in that shot is, I think, a great one for a female character. Could you post a link from where you find it?
What the heck? Before patch the game ran smoothly, now after patching, I can not even start the new game!! Can ANYONE help me, please? My computer is: XP, Intel Core TM 2 CPU, 6 420 @2,13 Ghz, 2,13 Ghz, 3,00 GB RAM. I tried to attach the crash, it doesn't work, the crash has number dump.1.2.0000.0000.dmp and dump.1.2.0000.0001.dmp Thank you!
@Effiny - make sure you're not running the game in compatibility mode. I've seen some reports issues with that.
But I am using XP, I never even used any compatibility mode. The crash says, there is some mistake in quest, that it can not start a certain "columm in journal". I didn't even start a game. I can only get to basic menu, portraits and when I want to start a new game, I can hear for a second the birds in Candle Keep and than it immediately crashes.
Thank you for releasing this patch, now game looks really sharp, especially all figures. And all texts are very clear to read. And menus/items looks great. Really, major improvement!
Aha, so I just checked the support forum, aaand, ehm...the first annotation mentioned my problem. I uninstalled the Portrait Pack and the game seems to be working...Sorry, I panicked horribly, I am normaly a nice girl. :-D
Open up Documents\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\portraits
Is there a file called BGEE.sql in there?
Nope, it is empty. Well, I think I managed the problem due to uninstalling the Portrait Pack. I am so sorry for panicking. I should have went to support section at firts. Thank you so much, Dee, for quick response. :-)
If you ever encounter a problem (with any game, not just this one), the first step should be to make sure that the problem isn't coming from a mod. I'm happy to help identify problems and find solutions, but the process goes a lot faster if we can eliminate variables like that.

Something called Rosetta (software included with Intel-based Macintosh computers that enables them to run PowerPC applications) was installed when I launched the updated version of BG:EE. Now, the game launches for a split second then disappears.
I encountered just one bug. In Beregest Thundershop i have item that stacks like ammo but the name of it is something like: "i talked to the commander named Scar blablabla), i encountered anouther journal thread in the shop in Neshkel.. I installed BG2 Tweaks after the patch, so maybe it causes the strange Items?
@revanbh As has already been stated a few times, the Steam version takes longer to be updated. That's kind of just the way it is. We're working on improving the situation, but it's still going to take time.
To put it in perspective, the App Store also typically takes about a week or more to approve patches. This isn't a "screw Steam users" situation, it's a "we honestly don't know how long it will take" situation.
That said, and I've said this numerous times before, if you want faster support--for any game, not just this one--your best bet is to buy directly from the developer. Any time you buy through a third-party service like Steam, you're adding an intermediary between yourself and the creator of the product you bought, which means distribution of updates is going to take longer.
In this case, in addition to Steam, there's another intermediary--Atari--that has had control of the Steam version since its release on that platform.
To put that into perspective, here's the pipeline for Beamdog customers:
Beamdog --> Customer
And here's the pipeline for Steam customers:
Beamdog --> Atari --> Steam --> Customer
As you can see, it's going to take longer for anything to get from Beamdog to the customer if that customer bought the game through Steam, simply because there are more intermediaries involved.
None of this has anything to do with how much you paid for the game, or how much of that money actually made it to the developer (spoiler: not very much). It's purely a logistical thing, and one over which we unfortunately don't have very much control at the moment.
Having said all that... The patch was released yesterday. Just be patient; the patch will reach Steam fairly soon.
(Or, hey, don't be patient, and buy another copy directly from Beamdog. Ramen doesn't buy itself, after all...)

Something got corrupted during the download. Try going into Game Data folder, and delete 777.fastresume. Then go into the 00777 folder, Show Contents on the BGEE App. In Contents/MacOS, delete the BGEE Executable. Then restart the launcher and update.
anyone an idea how i can activate that red "take all loot" button in 1.2? i have caused quite a little blood bath among hobgoblins, see lots of loot laying on the ground to grab, but no red button to take it all at once (as seen in the beta screenshots). am i doing something wrong?

@BelegCuthalion This text was among the few added late during the beta. Unfortunately instead of the proper English text, the developpers wrote some garbage text in other languages. It happened in French too, but the translation team managed to include the translation before release. Provided they uses the same garbage text in all languages, here is a "translation": ;-) "A New String" is "Enable Confirmation" and "barf" is the missing description for "Enable confirmation" that @theoricus mentionned. If you encounter "barfness", read "Choose Your Portrait" instead. If you find "new string" (note the difference with "A New String"), it's actually "(These images were found in your portraits folder.)".

That sounds very likely. I tried confirming what you described but I couldn't.
i found a little bug in the new Version 1.2 .... in the tavern of fieldposts Tavern, you can steal a cloak of Algenon (charm+2). If you try this now, however is always just said "the target has no items" but if you kill the Person you found the cloak... little problem for good Heroes ;-)
aha cool we want see ... in the moment my Garrick have 40.... thx (in German i read only "Taschendiebstahl fehlgeschlagen" in english its a little bit more precise)
This takes about a week for the iOS store and 4-5 days for Mac store. :-( Coming, but i gotta wait a week. This is true of all apps, don't blame beamdog/overhaul for it.
