Super-impressed by the way you handled the Open Beta communications. Kudos!
I have a Windows 7 + GMA 965 (X3100 -- OpenGL 1.4 compatible) laptop. Was this particular combination tested and found working? I'm getting a new power supply from a friend as my current one broke, so I can't even test it myself on it ATM, which is the only reason I'm asking here.
right you need a high pickpocket score ... but if i fail steal ... the message come "you fail steal..." and never the target has no item.
"The target has no items that can be stolen by a cut-purse of your skill" is correct. Algenon has an ITEM, but your pick pocket skill is TOO LOW because he is USING it (quick item slot), and it's not in his "general inventory" (inside his pockets).
I believe the value now to steal Algenon's Cloak is a required 50 or more in Pick Pockets.
And yes eventually jaheira and khaled will kill both monty and x'ar since she's a harper it's a given part of the storyline. I know it doesn't make sense since their both alive in BG II
Where/how do I get the patch file? Should the game auto-update or is there a link for the patch file? Thanks for any tips!
How do you own the game? If you own it for PC/Mac from Beamdog you should be able to just open the games standalone launcher and click "update". If you have the Beamdog client I'm not sure what you do.
If you have the Beamdog client, it's almost the same as the launcher: Open it and click the "+" (which appears when an update is detected for a game), then "Apply Update."
@iavasechui sometimes the client needs to restart before it properly checks for updates. Close it down and try again (and make sure it's really closed, and not just minimized do taskbar. Kill it through Task Manager)
That's because your NOT launching the right file... You must execute the BGEE.exe file not the BALDUR.exe file... The BGEE.exe should be in your Games folder (1 folder up)... If not, just search for it! BGEE.EXE (And don't forget to search everywhere, not only in (for example) your DATA folder).
Use the Beamdog Client to start the game or in this case to also update it. If you don't have the desktop icon the exe file should be located here C:\Program Files (x86)\BeamDog\Beamdog\BeamDog.Launcher.exe
The launcher just says ready to play and does not have the + or say anything about a patch being available... And I did a search and so far I cannot find bgee.exe at all.

You could try installing the game through the stand-alone Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition Installer (second link in the below thread).
This forum will remain active, at least for now. I need to figure out exactly how we want to use this space, but for the moment use it like you've been doing. Don't expect to see any updates to the beta at least until after BGII:EE is released; for now, just enjoy the patch.
Thanks for all your hard work!
this is probably an incredibly stupid comment but I originally purchased the enhanced version of the game via Steam and I can't seem to figure out what version of the game I have currently or where to locate the patch. :-/

edit: ah, not available for Steam yet!
Steam doesn't have it yet though it has been sent to Atari to be distributed to Steam purchasers. So you are going to have to wait a bit longer for it. Steam should be on version 1.0.2014, whereas the recently released patch is version 1.2.
ive been playing mp thouhg beta beamdog's tool and im super happy! but here some bugs we found:
- pausing for "video" (over and over) when day became night in Beregost temple Area. (there were no video though) - guests game crashed everytime a dream video triggered (host didnt have any side effect) - beastmaster's familiar is a bug: non-host beastmaster can successful cast familiar. i was happy at the beginning, but then dialogues do not work, and also, once a familiar dies, CHARNAME dies (no constitntion loss, which should be)
about familiar: - Gau, my beastmaster, can cast find familiar as a special skill. When he does, creature spawns in my control. -Leo, the host, is a fighter/mage who casts familiar. If he does, another familiar will spawn under HIS control. -no matter who cast the familiar, the creature will talk and treat Leo as his master. - Only leo can speak and put familiar in pocket. - if leo puts it in backpack, next time he releases it, it will cease exist if another is still in game; -if leo puts both in backpack, releasing his will make it exist under his control. -if leo loads the game, all familiars in game starts under his control. -SUPERBUG: everytime beastmaster casts Find familiar, he earns 6 points. I was like 60 HP in lvl 3 because of that xD
beamdog should charge atari/steam for the info service to players about the patch delay on that platform ... 2 cent each time this is questioned, and we'll have adventure Y maybe
@Itomon You should post these bugs in the bug forum to ensure that it gets done properly. Otherwise the devs might not see it/register it from this post.

We, Steam buyers, must get this patch. I can't buy from Beamdog.
which goes straight to this

I'm completely confused and probably misunderstanding something but I NEVER see that screen.
I noticed in the thread thaty they have a beta available. Does it work or not?

C:\Program Files (x86)\BeamDog\Beamdog\BeamDog.Launcher.exe
http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/6817/pre-loading-for-baldur-s-gate-enhanced-edition-has-begun
Edit. Also if you installed the game through Beamdog Client it seems the game doesn't have a BGEE.EXE file (only Baldur.exe).
