Can you imagine if there was such a forum back when BG2 originally came out? People would be complaining about all sorts of things. Firstly, Khalid and Dynaheir's deaths. And if they got changed, we would not have the game we do today. Which makes me almost shudder to think of, since this is one of the best RPG experiences of all time.
One of the worst, more irritating, most unacceptable things about Baldur's Gate is its arbitrary killing off of BG1 party members and assigning you party members that there is no guarantee you took along, liked, left alive or even met in the first game.
If that's your ideal here, I hope it's not one the devs - any devs - take to heart.
By doing this thread and poll you go against the main purpose of your post... this is kind of pointless, and in the end everybody is entitled to express is opinion, you like the others, even if you do not like it.
I'd just like to point out that Imoen was initially supposed to die. Can you imagine the "Wh-what are you planning?" and "P-leeease, I can't take this!" if you rocked up and it turned out she was used and discarded, just to make Irenicus seem even more SuperDarkUncare?
I'm actually genuinely annoyed they *didn't* do this. I usually just kill her myself and pretend it happened anyway.
I made a thread in an attempt to stop this nonsense.
Clara is boring. There is nothing new and fresh she can bring to the table. Nothing. Anything that can be done with her, another NPC has done before. Hexxat was the new and fresh thing and Clara was simply a means to an end for this new and exciting freshness.
There is plenty you can do with her. I'm all for making her a slaver of children and having minsc chunk her once he finds out her profession. Don't think that has been done.
And yes DLC her, especially if you need to repay people to come in and do voice acting. It takes time and energy to create content and the team should be paid for it. If someone wants it for free, they can go ahead and create a mod for the scenario.
It was also mentioned that you should be able to save
Khalid, Dyna, Yoshimo
and every other NPC that gets a plot death:
Well I disagree with that. Khalid was already dead and mutilated beyond repair. He was found like that. There was nothing you could do to prevent his death as you were locked in a cage. Dyna's corpse wasn't even found and you are relying on Minsc's word that she is actually dead.
Yoshimo, you don'y even need to kill. Just cast hold person and walk away. He betrayed you, attacks you and you kill him in self defense. The original devs had a story where you can actually save him (the whole bring his heart to a temple stuff) but it was cut for time.
Clara, who was in your party for sometime, was killed no more than 2 feet in front of you by a bloodsucking vampire and you just stand there. It's like reliving Gorion's death all over again, except this time, her assailant could of been dealt with easy.
Well, the "yes" votes have finally surpassed the "no" votes. My job here is done. Maybe there is some sort of intelligent life form on these boards, after all. I remain skeptical and underwhelmed, but it's a step in the right direction, certainly.
This was clearly a thread not to be taken too seriously. It was supposed to be a bit of fun about my annoyance of the same repetitive topic being brought up again and again.
Thank you for your contribution to my "pathetic topic". Certainly shows your worth that you bothered not only to vote, but to comment on it, hmm?
Move along, and waste someone else's time with your worthless drivel.
I'd like to start a thread "I want to save Khalid and Dynaheir and I want them to fall in love each other and get married and I want Minsc to kill 'em all and marry Jaheira and finally cheat her with Boo (of course), and I want to change the ending of BG2EE with an image of Minsc and Boo on a coah with a "just married" sign on the back and Robin Hood firing an arrow in the middle of it."

Sounds like you just got the idea for BG3, better copyright it before you lose out!

I apologise then that I didn't see it for what it was, I thought it was just an attempt to frustrate people
still seems unneeded but if u meant no harm it does not matter
However, I actually dislike polls which give a third option alluding to people either "not caring" or people "just wanting to see results." What's the point? I feel it taints the overall stats and is a place for lurkers, not contributors.
And when I post a poll, I want contribution and opinions! I want discussions and fire! But most of all I want results!
I must say, even though I think you people did a superb job with Hexxat, evidently you did a far better job with Clara. The collective butthurt of her death seems to have created a rift in time and space.
I'd rather there be a single topic where the entire Clara debate can be discussed so it doesn't spill over into other topics. Unfortunately, those topics have existed, and they all got closed because they all devolved into people insulting each other, racist/prejudiced comments about Hexxat, etc.
Well, I can see why. A black vampire is something unheard of prior to this.
Queen of the Damned, you say? Wasn't that Angelina Jolie in blackface?
There are only two problems here. 1) Blacula. I didn't invent blaxploitation films nor do I laud them; rather, I acknowledge the existence of the genre and its place in the cultural history of the late 1960s through the 1970s. If that film is a little too over-the-top for anyone then try Marvel's character Blade, a black "daywalker" vampire (also from the 70s and portrayed quite well by Mr. Snipes). 2) Akasha was played by Aaliyah; that was a painful rendition of the novel and was not her fault.
Problem is not that she dies, or the plot twist. It's just stupid that party just stood and watched when hexxat kills the person they were supposed to be helping. (And she cannot possibly drink out enough blood to cause death in miliseconds...)
And yes her voice acting is poor, so is %90 of voice acting in the new content.
You could assume she rips out her throat. In fact, by the canonical explanation of why she did it, she should've. Add the surprise of it and you don't have a chance to stop her, Clara dies instantly. Of course, you ought to be able to rez her, but you ought to be able to rez MOST NPCs in the game that unwantedly die, so that's hardly a new problem.
And Hexxat's voice acting is better than most of the original content, to me. Imoen is downright painful compared to all four new NPCs, for instance. So is Bodhi. I would say a lot of the new voice acting that isn't for the main four NPCs is kind of bad, though.
I meant Clara's voice acting btw. She sounds more like reading a speech from a paper - whike it should be like brains-on-stun or hallucinating.
I complately agree about that - the big 4 has no problems on voice acting but the rest are simply terrible.
And the scene did not gave me the feeling that it happened so suddenly, Clara even had time to beg. It's more like poorly done, i think. Yoshimo dies too, a much more interesting character which probably tag along with party for far longer. But his death is "just right" so leaves little to complain.

and yet your the one complaining about the forum

That said, this poll is missing an option for "Just want to see results".
