    If I was a god granting Free Action to one of my clerics, I wouldn't make the target immune to haste. If I was a wizard creating a Ring of Free Action, I wouldn't make the target immune to haste.

    If the free action effect inherently entailed an immunity to haste, then I'd go to the trouble of adding an exception, even if the spell had to be level 5 or the item cost extra gold.

    Free Action blocking haste only makes sense for a DM who wants to tweak it for game balance purposes. It doesn't make sense from the perspective of the in-game source.

    seriously, moving faster doesn't limit your freedom of movement.

    All the time as soon as possible.(I prefer the items over the spell and potion though) A held pc means the end of the game. *nods*

    Ring of Free Action was very useful for my kensai thief solo run. And you can still use potion of haste and then equip the ring if I am not wrong...
