I spent most of a summer holiday lying on the sofa watching tv with two exhausted, and purring, kittens sleeping on my chest, they wouldn't wake up for anything once they'd explored and played all morning.
two of my cats don't mind being washed too much, the other will attempt to climb my shoulder and leap away. It might be something to do with me having to wash him single handedly when my mum was away and he had an accident.
Our 5 year old daughter would love a cat or a dog but both me and my wife are allergic Luckily our next door neighbors, who also have two kids (boy&girl) roughly the same age, have two cats so at least she can go see them every week (the kids are obviously her friends too )
