To me a Ranger is more an Aragorn-esque adventurer than necessarily an Archer, but I can see it many ways. Valygar's seems to fit to me the best, but all three have key components of Rangers: Kivan is the Archer, with a favored enemy (and very vengeful about it). Minsc has an animal companion, and is always willing to help the less fortunate (also, was there ever a story reason for his change from Gnoll to Vampire as favored enemy or was it just because Gnolls became less common and Vampires are plot-integral?) Valygar has the many combat styles, light armor fighting that I envision Aragorn using.
Also, I find Minsc boring (here I get smote from the Minsc and Boo fandom), Kivan boring, and Valygar slightly less boring--but I prefer his combat uses.
For some reasons, I have a very hard time considering Minsc as a Ranger, so I pretended he wasn't on the list.
After which, I was standing before a hard choice. Kivan or Valygar. Finally, I went for Valygar, for two reasons. First of all, characters from BG2 typically have more depth than those in BG1, due to more interractions etc. Second of all, Valygar is a crucial character for one quest in BG2, so he is more important character story-wise.
One might say that Valygar is boring, rarely speaks etc, etc. But hey! Not every character needs to be as funny as Edwin or keep teeling bs like Jan Jansen. I like Valygar for his aloofness.
Hahaha it just seems like SCARY_WIZARD is pretty much the only person on these forums who ever uses kawaii anime speak. xD
*shrug*
In all the anime I've watched I've yet to come across that word even once. Since I don't hang out on silly meme sites it took years before I picked up on what the hell that actually means, I used to assume it was some bad wifi-joke I just didn't get.

Minsc got so mad he bent the bars of his cage with his beserker strength before bending my own...
It would have been a short game...
Anyway... for this reason and this reason alone.
I vote Minsc.
I just made myself mad.
