For my next playthrough I'm a bit torn between three characters, and I would appreciate your input. So here are the options:
- Which character would you like to read about?46 votes
- Sampariy, a wickedly evil Maztican Wild Halfling Barbarian/Druid, though he simply considers himself a loyal servant of nature.43.48%
- Serene, a CG half-elven Beast Master (mainly for the challenge though her alignment will be roleplayed))21.74%
- Ocker, my NG Dwarven Skald and Field General, who died yesterday by a Nereid's kiss, resurrected28.26%
- Something else, but please explain!!  6.52%

Sampiriy:
I've only just left Candlekeep with him. Sampiriy is a Maztican Wild Halfling whose mother was brought across the Narrow Sea to Faerun. She lived a sorry life being exhibited as a circus attraction, until she rallied the circus animals and broke free with them. Sampiriy has a strong antipathy against people and is much at ease in nature. Think of him as a powerhungry Shadow Druid whose hunger for power is based on his beliefs that he knows what's best.
Serene:
I rolled two 91s, which isn't anything special for a Ranger, but with low 18/xx STR. So I decided to keep on rolling for higher STR. Didn't have to wait long for a double 95: her general roll as well as her 18+ STR! It's one of few things she has going for her. I already started playing with her and for some reason access is restricted not only to weapons, but also to metal amor. This must be a mod at work right? Anyhow, she's waiting for Taerom Fuirium to produce a piece of Ankheg Plate Mail for her. I hope she can use that. Maybe the armor striction is even worse (leathers only)....
Ocker:
Some of you already met Ocker. I really enjoyed playing a Dwarf and a Bard for the first time. And I also liked how I thought I was getting bored with the singing, until I started seeing Ocker as a General who instructs and inspires his troops and, when needed steps in with magic or with his hammer and axes. In a second playthrough I'd nerf his godly stats (a legal roll btw) a bit by increasing his WIS to 15 which I think suits his role. I'll also run with a smaller party of max four characters.
Edit:the spelling wrong, thanks to Crevs for mentioning. Reasons: my bad english and hasty work...
Forgive me please, i'll fix it, if i've time.
Edit: Pilatus accent is now wight.
Thank you! So Far the Balbalian/Druid has taken the lead... Pardon my ignorance but where Where's that still from btw? @Ballad, that's a very astute observation. It's exactly how I tried to roleplay Ocker (learned, high lore), but struggling in the real world with the responsibility of leading a party comprised of different individuals with different personalities, and also with his role on nthe battlefield.
Though magic is as strange to dwarfs as breathing water is to humans, you have always had this ability. Considered by most as a freak, others as a threat and a few as a friend your diplomacy, already lacking for being a dwarf has done everything but improve.
You also wonder, alone at night, why the gods have made you different.
--------------
There you go. A warrior/mage with something to it and shorty saves. If you want more magic, it could be fighter/necromancer (as the magic comes from the essence of the God of Death)
I assume it can be done with eekeeper, otherwise, forget me
Second, when you do get back to playing Ocker, I would suggest keeping his roll as is. I see him as a talented battlefield commander, able to fight as well as any of his allies due to his exceptional stats, but who takes command instead. As for his wisdom, I think you should just make sure to pick up all three wisdom tomes. I think that's the EXACT kind of role-playing way needed to explain his developing skills as a leader, since I do see him as a bit naive. If you really want to nerf him at least a little, then I suppose you could give him one more point of wisdom, so that he'll actually get 15 and gain a lore boost. Not critical, but it's an option.
Third, yes that is TOTALLY a character I'd play, and I actually kind of have that play-through planned. Unfortunately, as it stands now, I can't do it since I only have the iPad version. =\
Anyway I'm still interested in all three, and in more votes/opinions
@Ravenslight and @element, I really like roaming the wilderness with my Beast Mistress as a protector of nature. I've solo'd a lot in order for her to gain a number of levels and also because I imagine her as a diffident girl. Upon arrival in new areas she would charm animals and explore (and fight where necessary) with her animal friends by her side. Her increased experience has made her a bit more confident that she may find likeminded people that would actually appreciate her company.
@Elrandir, if you send me a savegame file of a Dwarven Defender I could edit it into a DD/Mage (I think), and send my edited version of your file to you. All you need to do is place it in your savegame folder. I would like to read an immersive account, and I think that @MacHurto would as well, of your Dwarf's adventures
Your stories are always insightful, fun and RP-ed, they are like small books for me, so I highly anticipate your future playthrough.
I'm sure no matter which particular character you choose in the end, it will be a win.
If you ask me, the classes/kits/combos that are not popular are especially interesting to read about. I can't find many playthroughs with a Beast Master, so it would be not only fun but useful if you choose Serene. If she would have armor restrictions, it would be even better;) It would be quite an experience for you too, I'm sure.
For dual, i assume the typical 9/13 level to dual? Havent really checked the defender kit. It was just for flavour :-D
If looking at it as RP, then lv7 as soon as BG2 starts
@Elrandir, I just created a Dwarven Defender/Mage named Ridnarle with a nice roll of 90, STR-DEX-CON-INT maxed, two pips in Axes and two in Hammers and with Armor, Blindness and Sleep as his known spells. I hope this is more or less matches what you had in mind for your character. In the attachment you can find his bio file and his chr file. If you copy both files to the folder named 'Characters' in your game installation folder, start a new game, and choose import character 'DDMage' at character creation, you should be ready to go if you want to, but don't feel pressured in any way...
@everyone: thanks for your input! I really appreciate it. I've decided to play all three of them, but in the following order: Serene -> Sampiriy -> Ocker. The reason is that I need some more time to flesh out Sampiriy's complex personality, and that I already started with Serene.
@meagloth, you're an ipad player, could you help here? @Tresset maybe?
@Blackraven sorry, I can't even install npc mods on my computer :P @CrevsDaak is your man.
You'll see a save, (if you ever started an MP game), mpsave, and (if you ever started a BP game) bpsave folders, those have the saved games (which are composed by a 0000000 folder with a .GAM, a .SAV and some .bmp inside).
To install a mod with WeiDU you need to have your iPad jailbroken (because you can't edit the dialog.tlk otherwise), either way you can make a Portraits folder in Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition/Library and drop the files there, they should work (meagloth can confirm, lunar as well).
