The Classiest Cleric v.2

ElrandirElrandir Member Posts: 1,664
Moving right along to Cleric, this is the fourth of my favorite class/kit polls. As always, this is for personal preference, and not to say what is the strongest kit. That said, feel free to debate to your heart's content in the comments! We've had some good (albeit occasionally heated) debates in the past two polls, so I'm curious to see if anyone cares so strongly about clerics.

      20.62%
    3. Cleric of Helm: Neutrality ho!
      16.49%
    4. Cleric of Lathander: The popular kid at school.

Well pi**. I forgot to add the "Just show me the results" option. I apologize for the daft blunder, everyone. On the bright side, at least it won't be AS strange when the mages poll (which has ten options already) doesn't have the option.

I think the typical and classic Cleric is the Cleric of Lathander. Good healer type that hates undead and uses a mace (Lathander's favored weapon).

All of my clerics are Warrior Priest types. They Lower the Hammer of Justice.

Priest of Helm is imo much better in BGEE than it is in BG2EE, at least when comparing it to the other cleric kits. Seeking Sword lasts for 60 seconds throughout BGEE (it keeps the same duration until level 11), gets a +4 Thac0 bonus, and gives 3 APR. Obviously when you get to BG2EE in particular it gets outdamaged by other weapons but for an ability you get at the start of BGEE its pretty awesome. It basically makes you start out BGEE with access to having the Thac0 of a fighter (or possibly better) so that is why I support it.

Have never tried the others, but the Talos stronghold was very fun imo. Storm shield is also very useful.

None of my favorite gods are represented. At least with Divine Remix, I can play a Firewalker, but still no kit for Shaundakul. Someone let me be a Windwalker! :( I want that kit so bad.

I want to be a Sibylite! A Glyphscribe! A Dweomerkeeper! I will mod my own kit, and in so doing receive Divine Immersion.

Dweomerkeeper would be very fun, too.

And, like, if someone makes me a Windwalker kit, I'll use it in my mod, so, so, so, so, so someone make me a Windwalker kit. :( So I don't have to actually try. Kits got scary with BGEE.

    Lathander like whoa.

Not only is he my favorite of the three choices, in that I can't stand Helm and don't do Chaotic Evil, but he's Neutral Good, so works for all Good alignments.

Forcing all neutral clerics towards Lawful and all evil clerics towards Chaotic is not cool.

I really think there should be a priest of Waukeen, though, since the temples are THERE and anyone of any alignment can worship her. (And only being able to officially worship male deities is not cool either.)

The boon is awesome (extra attack, stacks)
Also killing undead becomes even easier

I'm sad because in Baldur's Gate, you can't be a Heartwarder of Sune, or the elven equivalent, because Hanali Celani. Also, can't be a Feywarden of Corellon.

In an other note, my usual cleric is a half-elven lawful neutral cleric/mage. Which, just makes me head-canon her into a Feywarden/Mage.

Still, no Feywarden makes Sapphire a sad panda. D:

For the same reason I picked Undead Hunter... Because smashing undead is what holy warriors are for!

@Rhaella‌ I'd promote your post if I could. Thank you!

Indeed, thanks @Rhaella. :D I might have to try that for my next game. Not sure how Isra would deal with a Cleric of Tyr, though...
