@LadyRhian there is something very feminine about the pose and expression - but it could just be the grace that all cats have. I loved the work soooo much tried to check out Mondeis's gallery (I think he/she was the artist and Argent Fatalis reposted it) but the page has been deactivated.

@LadyRhian I agree with you about the back-to-front and messed up arrow. And I'm really not sure how that weapon works - they aren't babrs to cause more damage. anyway thanks for the load of lovelies and not-lovelies.
...I like this thread. Lots of good quality artwork, but mostly SFW. (Even though I often get the feeling LadyRhian keeps crashing your thread with stripperrific outfits, massive boob windows and art that borders on nsfw. Luckily, not as often as the other thread).
This is the only one I am not sure of. I know it's Kitiara and Lord Soth. It may have been an interior illustration in a Dragonlance module. Otherwise, no idea.
The Cover of the Module I11, "Needle".
Cover of Dragon Magazine- somewhere in the 90's? (Issues, not date)

I like to imagine the left is ceremonial, while the right is what she actually wears in battle. Sort of a "Being a military leader, I have to wear armour to governmental meetings, but there's no point in wearing my full suit just to sit around a table and talk."
@LadyRhian many thanks once again. Why doesn't it surprise me thatAerenwyn's made yet another neat pic. I've just checked her gallery - and its THREE new neat pics since my last update
@LadyRhian and @Elandir that Johnsons Ting pic is definitely going to get cropped on my main blog, so the right hand one with the eggregious bewb window won't defile the webpage!
@Buttercheese Dark-Tarou has a really interesting gallery with a great range of styles but a totally unpronouncable real name!
Last but not least - has anybody got any ideas on the last pic - what's that instrument and how would she play it? I'm intrigued, it looks to real not to be based at least partly on a real instrument. It wouldn't go under her chin like a fiddle.
This is probably not the place for this, and possibly there is no place for this. However, my Fallout new Vegas character wears the Naughty Nightwear to talk to people, because it provides Speech +10 and Luck +1. Yes I know, I'm the problem not the solution. Anyway, I forgot to change back into proper armor after getting the next hunt quest from Red Lucy, resulting in this screenshot.
@LadyRhian great pics of the instruments. I've got a couple of medieval music CDs, and wayyy back I I had a few LPs. I've heard hurdygurdies, harps, psalters, lutes and many members of the mandolin/lute family but I've never seen a European instrument designed to be bowed in the lap of while seated. Chinese yes (busking at a folk festival) It gives the image of the bard a real touch of authenticity. I love her armor, and I am big fan of the realistic style, but the blowed instrument really is the icing on the cake!
@The_Potty_1 I think the pic of a floozy in real lingerei blasting the foes with a FGB is bloody hilarious ... just as long as we all realise it is utterly hilarious and is in no way a sensible outfit for a gunner!
One of my friends owns a P'ip'a (Chinese Lute). it's very nice and has a very weird tonal quality. Almost a whining sound.
Another good stringed instrument (Arabian) is the 'ud. And the Madolin and Gambusi (Like a lute with a neck bent backwards in the middle). My favorite is the Celtic harp, of course.
More than anything else that instrument looks like a short necked mandolin to me. I don't believe that's what it is, however, as there's clearly one of those stick things you use to play a violin (The proper term escapes me at the moment), and a mandolin is played like a guitar. It could just be the artist's interpretation of some sort of medieval fiddle.

...with those exposed lower thighs, completely bare neck and boobs and ... that strange naked midriff-window, one can only guess what kind of a "meeting" would that be. :-)

I think those are knees, actually. As for the neck and chest, have you SEEN the kind of ridiculous historical dresses that existed? =p The midriff is strange, though, I'll give you that.

This is a dilruba, an Indian Instrument.
There is this thing, another medieval instrument
Found it. It's most likely a Vielle, or medieval fiddle. It could be a mandoline, or small mandolin.
I swear she normally looks like this:
