After 600 pages, we have yet to see anyone in this thread preach hatred for a specific skin color, or say that one's gender disqualifies one from having an opinion.
In all fairness, I doubt a post like that would be tolerated more than once before that person was (rightfully) banned so you'd have to be foolish to wiggle your toes in that pond. However, I'd say the intelligence level of the people on this forum is quite a bit above the average (yes, even you people who don't agree with me). Intelligence doesn't eliminate prejudice, but I do think it reduces it.
One person (unknown if it's a protester or just some random idiot) has done a King Kong and scaled halfway up it. She's still there and it's being broadcast live all over TV networks here in NY.

That's awesome! Even if nothing comes of the protest, she's got her 15 seconds of fame. Reminds me of the Human Fly from the 70's. I believe he was in New York as well.

She has now taken off her shirt and is waving it at all the cameras.

Sorry, but we HAVE seen several comments along those lines. For example:
It's a sense of entitlement that can only really come from a demographic group (white middle America) who has never for one second had to live with the cloud of actual oppression.

I don't know how clear it is from that camera angle, but the woman is currently laying down under the statue's raised heel.
EDIT: She's laying down as though taking a nap.
I do not believe she is mentally stable. I have a feeling this will not end well.
NBC, citing a law enforcement source, says the trespasser at the Statue of Liberty "is telling the police that she will not come down willingly until 'All the children have been released.'"

And as we all know, nothing earns support for a cause better than flushing other people's time and hard-earned money down the drain.
Anyway, looks like the woman has just been nabbed.

I mean, there was that one person who said my experiences don't matter because I'm white,,,

I dont know who said it, but it's not even remotely preaching hatred of anyone with a particular skin color/type.
Pointing out that White people arent oppressed in a majority white country because they're white isnt news worthy and isnt racist. It also has nothing to do with hatred.

So much for staying up there until all the children have been released. Hmpf.
That would take a while anyway since records don't seem to have been well kept.
Anyways that got coverage as if it was a bigger deal than it actually was.

Yes it is, on both counts.
If someone were to make a sweeping generalization about the lives and backgrounds of black people (or any non-white race) and then collectively dismiss their opinions as "a sense of entitlement," there's NO WAY that that wouldn't be roundly condemned as racist.

It isnt, on either account.
First - Did I dismiss anyone's opinions? Where are my sweeping generalizations? All I said was - and I quote:
Pointing out that White people arent oppressed in a majority white country because they're white isnt news worthy and isnt racist. It also has nothing to do with hatred.
They may be oppressed for a variety of other reasons, being poor, being LGBTQ, being women, etc - but not because they're white.
Second - there's also no hatred in the statement. So that's both counts. No racism, and no hatred.
What's that pithy quote?
"When You’re Accustomed to Privilege, Equality Feels Like Oppression"
@SharGuidesMyHand@BallpointMan@smeagolheart: The question of whether any given post violates the Site Rules is not up for public discussion. The Site Rules do not permit forumites to publicly accuse each other either of prejudice or of breaking the Site Rules.

You may also contact any moderator via a personal message. It is against the Site Rules to make a public accusation of this sort; these issues can only be addressed privately.
If we were discussing a quote from a public figure outside the forum, things would be different, but this is a quote from one of your fellow forumites. Any further posts about this issue will be deleted--this question is the domain of the moderating team.
Looks like the ol 'Ma Bell' big corp. has rebuilt it's 'death star', now stronger than ever, and all it took was patience. I was wondering how this would turn out, I guess now we know. I posted this graphic a while back but will show it again as it is AT&T at a glance. It seems to be the thing these days, but I don't like to see all these big mergers, this being just one.
"Just two months ago, AT&T said in a court filing that buying Time Warner would allow it to lower TV prices. The US Department of Justice tried to stop the merger, arguing that it would raise prices for consumers, but a federal judge sided with AT&T. The merger was completed on June 15. AT&T scoffed at the Justice Department's argument that the merger would raise prices. The telecomm giant wrote in its post-trial brief that the merger will "enabl[e] AT&T and Time Warner to reduce consumer prices." AT&T promised lower prices after Time Warner merger—it’s raising them instead "The Federal Communications Commission under Chairman Ajit Pai allowed AT&T to skip a lengthy public-interest review." Trump administration fails to block AT&T/Time Warner merger

I was referring to the quote I quoted, NOT to your quote.

Trump sorta screwed them by his well documented anti-cnn tirades. He also at one point was demanding that they sell off CNN as a condition of the merger.
They could easily proven bias although they apparently dropped that as part of their bid.
The UK may be keen to do trade deals with other countries post-Brexit, but it seems highly unlikely that Russia will be among those in the near future.
Seems to me the news that Trump was obsessed with the idea of invading Venezuela last summer should be getting a bit more attention. INVADING Venezuela??

Meanwhile, the Statue of Liberty has just been evacuated because some Darwin winner has climbed halfway up it.

For anyone who hasn't or can't see it, the woman is next to the foot of the statue itself (meaning that she climbed up that entire huge base).
Manhattan has always been a magnet for these kinds of people.
