I am fairly certain that miniature-giant-space-hamster are the size of normal hamsters. Besides: Minsc is the only one who claims that Boo actually is a miniature-giant-space-hamester and as we all know, Minsc is a bit coocoo for cocopuffs. For all we know, Boo might actualy be - *le gasp* - just an ordinary hamster.
We would hope that Boo is the size of a normal Hamster, particularly considering the nature of where/how he stayed hidden at the beginning of BG2. If he were larger than average..... Boggles the mind.
I doubt it, unless she went through a style change, she wouldn't wear robes like these. Or a ponytail. Are the EE characters even canon?
PS: It wouldn't make a lot of sense in my book to team up Neera and Minsc, since they are both loud and outgoing. I think she is going to be the silent type, at least when compared to Minsc, in order to balance him out. Somewhere between Dynaheir and Aerie, I suppose. Maybe with a bit Imoen in the mix to make her the "little sister" type. We shall see.
I like @Elrandir 's theory I had tought about it, too. It sounds a convincing explanation for a time travel (although there could be tons of possible explanations for this in the D&D world).
Well, if she's not Neera, at least she looks a lot like her. I mean, if I wanted to create a new, original character I would make sure he/she does not look like any other existing character of the series. I'd try to make him/her unique. And it would not be the first time a character undergoes a style change throughout his/her appearences in different medias or within a series.
However... I remain doubtful. It would be too great if they picked my favorite BG character to play the leading female in the comic. I'm not usually that lucky XD

You may be overestimating the appeal of the EE characters to the larger BG fanbase - even a casual glimpse online (fan art, forum discussions, etc.) shows that Dorn, Neera, Rasaad and Hexxat aren't really as broadly recognized as Minsc and the original NPCs.
You can count the combined fanart of the EE companions on one hand.
Though I do have to say, the BG fandom is one of the most unproductive ones out there, if you don't count the modding community. There is only a very small group of people who actually regularly create fanart/ fanfiction, many of which have moved over to different topics in the past years.
Also, but this is more of a loose hypothesis based on my own experiences and observations, the BG fandom has a suprising lack of females between the ages of 15 and 25, which tend to be the group with by far the most output when it comes to fanworks, at least from what I can tell about fandoms in general.
Over all, the BG fandom is very very quiet compared to for example Dragon Age, Neverwinter Nights, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls and Fallout, to only name the most closely related ones. I bet this would all change if BG would get a completely new game in the series, one that is as "modern" as the youngest games in the series' mentioned above.
I think it's more the BG fandom has mostly moved on.
Look at the romance mods that are for female PC's, full of dashing men ready to sweep the PC off her feet and bicker tremendously with everyone in sight for her affections. That's where the 15-25 female fanwork block was.
(Also, go back to the Attic back when BG2 was first released, and read all the CHARNAME/GUY WHO IS USUALLY NOT ANOMEN fanfiction... and the male slash. Yeah.)
@Twani: Ehehehehe, I will be the last person to complain about those mods, believe me ~
I didn't get to see a whole lot of fanfiction, though I came rather late to the game, around 2008, I believe? And I started even later with reading fanfiction, given that my English was quite terrible back then, so I am going to assume, that most fiction had already vanished alongside the websites they where posted on. I got most of my input on BG fanworks from DeviantArt (and now what little there is on Tumblr).
My hope is that Minsc or Boo picked up a fragment of the Spellplague and now randomly teleport through the timelines on the whim of fate, arriving when and where they are needed, but cursed to move on once the mission is over. Kinda like Doctor Who, only its a madman with a hamster instead of a blue box.
YES!
Drat, now I have to buy comic books. Well, that's okay, they're starting up a new line of silver age Guardians of the Galaxy (also in October... coincidence?) so I'm back into comics now anyway.
As for me, I cannot draw or paint, so I will simply write.
Also... YAAY! More Baldur's Gate! And to all the Minsc haters out there... well I guess that's your prerogative. As for me, I will always love Minsc and I don't much care if he's too mainstream or too obnoxious. We're buddies all the way back to the days that I used to be able to convince my dad to play video games, and he got a kick out of Minsc too. ^_^
Also I really doubt that it is Neera. A. She looks too serious in the picture, and we all know Neera is as absent-minded bubbly as they come B. I don't think they would use an EE character in the comics. For one, they are simply less recognizable. I know some people who were BG fans back in the day but didn't even know the EEs were coming out. I was almost one of them! Second of all, if this was the case I feel as though Beamdog would advertise it a lot more (unless IDW told them not too).
That knife must be pretty dull, otherwise he'd be missing a finger tip. Of course, perhaps that's exactly what happens in the next frame! "Look everyone, I can balance this knife on my fingert... AAAIIIEEEEE!"
Also, just as I suspected, the girl is neither Neera, Imoen or Aerie, but an entirely new character.
I knew she was a completely new character. Neera would be an old half-elven woman around the time the comic is set in, which is likely 1479 DR, Imoen would be long dead from old age since she gave up the Bhaal's essence in her blood (if she lived through our playthrough of Throne of Bhaal), and I knew for sure she couldn't be Aerie.
I had a non-color 'pamphlet' of this same scene given to me at GenCon this year from WotC. Looks alright, as long as it's not expensive and some reviews are decent I'll take a look. I mean, it can't possibly be worse than the 'books'...

And hey, if you can't get enough of BG comics, don't forget to look at our own fanfic offerings such as this continuing work: http://baldursgatecomic.thecomicseries.com/comics/first/ which was linked in this thread: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/31267/baldurs-gate-comic#latest and made by our own @baldursgatecomic .

Also, chaotic neutral is the best alignment, it is known UvU
Also:
So, I guess Boo confirmed for protagonist.
