Everyone can debate on who can win in a fight versus a Beholder and a Lich, but what about the bottom feeders of the XP chain? Which one holds the glory over all other minor annoyances.
They survived the Tasloi and the Xvarts. The gibberling are now dog food. Now they are pitted against each other. Which of the three would win in a fight to the death. Elite versions do not count.

For me its skeleton rattling (or whatever its sound is supposed to be). When I hear that I know that there are going to be a lot of darts coming my way.
A wander through the forest killing squirrels and bears will net you more xp... And don't get me started on those Kobolds that go commando!
Skeletons just need a cleric to be rid of them.
Dogs, a ranged weapon.
Kobolds can hit you from afar so can do damage.
So Kobolds. As they can kite the rest if needed...
With a Mythal.
Wizards are always doing crazy ****.
*Whistles innocently*
As for the matter at hand... still gotta hand it to kobolds. The 90% resistance to ranged attacks isn't as useful as you might think - at the low HP levels you get with both kobolds and skeletons they're still going to often get hits of 1-2 damage, if not more from crits (which kobolds will get on typically unarmored skeletons). Considering the weakness of skeleton attacks, a mixed group of ranged/melee kobolds would have a fair chance against a similarly sized group of skeletons, imo.
You also don't really see the dagger skeletons outside of the High Hedge, or the X-bow wielders away from the mad priest, so the best ranged skeletons generally have will be the composite longbow wielding skeletons, which I've never seen more of than two at a time.
