I see that some people (i.e: elminster) have already been chosen for beta testing. If someone signs up for beta, how quickly can they expect a response as to whether they've been selected?
Are we getting Icewind Dale II in the future? (I hope we will and it's probable I guess).
IWD2 really needs a new engine as the previous one didn't support hardware acceleration for graphics cards, which resulted in lagginess when lots of stuff happened, even with modern systems.
I know that because the original assets were lost for BG:EE and BGII:EE, HD versions were not a possibility. But what about the original assets for IWD:EE ??
But why does Beamdog want to destroy my social life?? With DA:I coming out as well, my current and already planned playthroughs of BG, and moving to a new apartment I'll never see friends or family again. xD
More serious note: what would signing up for the Beta entail? Because as soon as I've moved I do actually have a lot of free time.
I have just finished a IWD playthrough the other day, and was often thinking to myself, how I would LOVE if they used the BG2 Engine / rules ... THANK YOU!! I've played IWD since I was but a wee kid ... BG series back then was too "technical" for me (I didn't understand anything of what was going on:P) IWD was easier to go to... Cause it was more fighter friendly :P
Good news, but I am kind of disappointed by the "enhanced features": New UI - cool Port to BG2 engine - cool, even though it will most likely screw up the balance (just as with BG:EE) Crossplatform multiplayer - cool
So, thats basically it? After releasing two Enhanced Editions and gathering vast experience with the Infinity Engine, I had thought Beamdog to be able to put a little more/new features into their next game. What about voiced companions? What about some actual graphical improvements on the sprites?

elminster and a few others have been privately beta testing for a while now; he didn't get in via the current call for testers.
Dear Devs! Thank you so much! This is like a fairytale, really! The fact IWD will be on BGEE engine makes this game even more appealing to me. It is so good you bring this classics back:)
Am I right the portraits in IWDEE will have the same resolution as in BGEE?

I am gonna have to sue Wizards of the Coast if they keep randomly announcing awesome stuff.
My poor heart can't take much more ;3;
"We have work to do."

Close to the very bottom of that page (under the answer for the final FAQ question) you'll find the link for the sign up form.
