What's in your Icewind Dale party?

What.. or Who are they? What kind of party is it?
Be it a group of righteous fanatics (paladins n' clerics, eww), mischievous evil-doers, or Nordic honorable nomads (barbarians, druids, and rangers), what party do you usually create when it comes to Icewind Dale?
The forums is a place for me to hunt ideal characters who are unique and cool. But since I am too lazy to browse every single discussion and every post, I may as well ask for what people have in mind for their characters in one place.
Here are mine, a group of nameless mercenary militia that fits the description of the... kindhearted narrator as he narrates the progress of your adventures in between chapters. It's fairly cookie-cutter.

Add stats and bio to your characters if you'd like, I'm refraining myself from posting those just so you guys don't get walls of texts.

In my eyes a flavorfull party that fits in the icy wilderness fantasy.
Barbarian half-orc. This is Icewind Dale, how could I not use a barbarian.
Stalker, human or half-elf. This spot im not 100% sure about. An undead hunter could be usefull, but I dont like paladins so much. Stalker fits the setting much better.
Bard, vanilla, human. I never used bards in IWD. I want to expirience them the way the game originally intended.
Avenger, half elf. Everyone keeps saying druids in IWD are great. I never used druids much, Cerd made sure i dislike them. I want to expirience them in IWD... fresh start.
Wild mage, human. I love arcane casters. Wild mages are hilarious, nuff said.
Cleric/thief, half orc. Odd combination, great utility. I felt I needed a bit more clerical power. And this group needs a trap disarmer, so here it is. Im keeping an open mind about this class. Given enough buffs and HP he could serve as a third tank between the mobs and the casters.
Im still not sure about the group here and there, but i think its a flavorfull group that fits the fantasy of the icy wild. We shall see what happens when the game gets released. Maybe a new kit here and there, maybe I change my mind a little.
Undead Hunter. Sword and shield.
Sorceror. Mainline caster that doesnt have to worry about finding scrolls for all the new spells.
Mage/Thief. Better than a plain thief, plus spells. Shortbow, naturally.
Fighter/Cleric (or Fighter dual to Cleric, or Ranger/Cleric). Im thinking Staff and Sling guy.
???????????? Waiting to see what new kits we get, otherwise...Barbarian or Dwarven Defender.
See, I got the blasting spells, the trap disarming and lockpicking (who needs stealth when you can cast invisibility), the front line fighters, and the heals (though if he multiclasses, almost all his spells will be healing)

To be precise Blackguard (Two handed Sword), Paladin (kit undecided, Longsword+Shield), Shadowdancer (Longsword), Bard (Bow or Scimitar?) C/M and Sorcerer (Both Sling, probably).

Human Paladin (party leader)
Dwarven Fighter/Cleric
Human Barbarian
Half Elven ranger
Halfling thief
Human Wizard
In previous play throughs, I found the lower levels particularly needing a lot of close quarters fighter types, so this seems to work. Of course later on, you have other issues to deal with.
Remember in Icewind Dale there were premade parties for the players to select? They each had a theme. And what I found lacking in my previous parties were their themes. Each and one of their characters are colorful and vibrant, but they all come together to be a big messy ugly picture.
Which is why in the recent approach to Icewind Dale I have decided to paint the picture as a whole, rather than having different segments of colors, to put.
I have different themes for each parties now, and I find this approach even more flavorful since they all have their definitive strengthes and weaknesses in both terms of gaming and roleplaying.
This was my Undead Party, most undead will be using their former races but with pale skin colors:
Fallen Knight
Lawful Evil Human Fallen Paladin (Or Blackguard)

Lich (The one who controls this party)
Chaotic Evil Human Necromancer

Acolyte (Servant of the Lich, as well as the 'living' person to do the talking)

The party deliberately lacks clerics and casual thieves, and their given stats (the undead ones) will be high on strength and low on dexterity. They are corpses afterall!
1. Chaotic Good Skald - A mischievous and hearty adventurer in his own right, becoming a part of the stories he weaves. He hails from the lands of the north.
2. Chaotic Neutral Bard - On a long wanderlust journey, this lady is not nearly so heroic but handles a bow or a spell well enough. Her abilities as a pickpocket may also come in handy as the future unfolds.
I know I want some frontline fighters (the skald will fight, but dedicated tanks are nice early on). I also know I want a human barbarian, probably a two-handed sword specialist who is a hero of the north. For my other slot, I want either a dwarven defender or a paladin kit (cavalier or undead hunter). I find it difficult to choose, so this may change.
3. Thirik the Slayer, Chaotic Good Barbarian - Known for his death-dealing with a greatsword, Thirik also possesses a keen tactical mind and swiftness of foot, making him far more deadly than any simple mercenary.
4. Lawful Neutral Dwarven Defender - A steadfast companion, he is often torn between his practical law-abiding nature and his desire to drink and carouse. Though he is gruff to the bards, he appreciates their craft more than he would ever admit.
Finally, no team can be complete without a bit of divine magic and some rogue talents. Pickpocketing and arcane magic can be handled competently by the bards, so my options are somewhat open here.
5. True Neutral Avenger - A full-bore caster druid, looking to restore natural balance in her adventures. This spot could potentially be taken by a cleric of an interesting deity...
6. Chaotic Good Swashbuckler - Another wanderer far from home, but one who well appreciates a good story or a good fight. His roguish charm and diverse skill soon makes him thick as thieves with the bards, and the three of them are often up to no good.
I guess if this team had a theme, it would be swashbuckling adventure for its own sake. Once in a while I get tired of gritty backstory and grey morals and I just want to have fun. Of course, since I am a chronic restarter, you can bet this will hardly be the only team I lead into Icewind Dale...
Aragorn: Human Ranger
Legolas: Elf Archer
Gimli: Dwarf Fighter
Frodo: Halfling Fighter-Thief
Galadriel: Elf Cleric
Arwen: Elf Mage
These heroes starting at Level 1 managed to make it all the way to the end on HOF mode! Now, as mentioned on another thread, my next challenge on IWDEE will be to try and do the same with a solo character (either FMT or FMC, still to be decided...)
Glad you liked it though! So many characters to choose from LotR, must've been hard cutting some of them off the list!
Lord Hellraiser - LE human Blackguard
Carnivore - CE half-orc Barbarian
Vega - NE elf Fighter/Thief
Worf - LE gnome Fighter/Cleric
Gambon - CE elf Dragon Disciple
Goes under the name of 'Undivided'.
Here they are, the Magnificent Six:
... I apologize to anyone who was hoping for IWD style portraits. I kinda only can do BG2. -__-;
A band of thieves on the run from waterdeep
Later on, when Malica was busy slaughtering the Underdark city, one of the defeated drows managed to sweet-talk her into taking him as a slave rather than slitting his throat. Seeing as the sad business with Yoshimo left her party thief-less, she considered it quite an opportune turn of events. (Elkantar thinks that the day he nearly died was the luckiest in his life - there is now only one woman bossing him around, and rewards for faithful service are quite sweet).
Then the strangest thing happened - after defeating Irenicus Malica apparently got lost on her way from hell, for she woke up on a ship, almost a century in the past. The ship was diseased, and all the party got sick - when they finally arrived to Easthaven, they we're all so malnourished and out of shape as if they never went adventuring in their life.
Lady Malica and her harem:
What an awesome and efficient way to post a whole roster of dossier!
Neverwinter Night portraits work surprisingly well, too, if managed to muster enough portraits for character creation. On top of that, I also used sporeboy's Aasimar/Tiefling portraits for IWD2 characters.
Lady Atheira Sommerset of Luskan
LG Female Human
Undead Hunter of Lathander
Elisif Stormspirit of Icewind Dale
TN Female Half Elf
Fighter/Druid of Shiallia
Gromgar of the Tribe of the Bear
LN Male Half Orc
Barbarian of Uthgar
Baerth Volstrum of Easthaven
NG Male Human
Skald of Tymora
Cordelia Finch of Waterdeep
NG Female Gnome
Illusionist/Cleric of Deneir
Phaelia Tuviel of Silverymoon
CG Female Elf
Mage/Thief of Sehanine Moonbow
This gives me an idea - wouldn't it be interesting to go the original BG route with portraits? Could someone convince the Beamdog team to post their pictures we could baldurize/icewindize ?
Cleric/Ranger - dual blunts
Half-Orc Fighter/Thief - two-handed
Totemic Druid - staff/spear/sling/darts?
Jester - shortbow/x-bow
Wild Mage - sling
Originally I was going to have a Paladin in the 1st slot but I decided against it. The other members can cover the abilities, and I'm not that bothered about the +7 sword (been there, done that). The blackguard brings something new, and they'll probably add a special weapon for them.
Some might scoff at the Jester, but it's the only Bard I haven't tried before.
This is pure speculation, of course, as I never had the chance of having a jester in Icewind Dale.
