If you have been following Twitter, the forums, or The Escapist, you have likely seen the first several videos in our newest series that talks about how to survive the terribly dangerous and altogether not-very-friendly climes of Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition.
Alveus Malcanter (played by Mark Meer, the voice of Rasaad, Baeloth, and Voghiln) offers daily insights from remembering to moisturize before going into battle, to making liberal use of potions, to letting the less squishy members of your party do the dirty work. The videos are first being posted on The Escapist's website (links below), but you can catch up on the videos you missed in our YouTube playlist HERE.
Links to the original videos on The Escapist:
Survival Rule #1: Get Buffed!
Survival Rule #2: Attack the Darkness!
Survival Rule #3: Drink Up!
Survival Rule #4: Everyone is Expendable.
Survival Rule #5: Control the Flow of Time
Survival Rule #6: Go Long or Go Home
Survival Rule #7: Shut the Door
Survival Rule #8: Aim Away from the Face
Survival Rule #9: Talk it Out
Survival Rule #10: Give Up
In addition, you can follow @AlveusMalcanter on Twitter for frequent tidbits to help you survive the Spine of the World.

Mark Meer is very talented. This inspired me to watch more of his videos. The way he gets into character and makes facial expressions is very entertaining. This video provides some insight
He's also pretty funny. Especially at the end when he spoke about how reapers are coming to Alberta he reminded me of a slightly more Indian version of a young Bruce Campbell.
Really happy Beamdog has such a talented guy working for them. Hopefully he'll have a part to play in Adventure Y.
Allies, eh? You know what they say. Can't live with them, can't get very far without them holding the monsters at bay while you cast Chain Lightning.
Also, on YouTube we can freely watch these videos in the 720p (high quality), while on the Escapist site high quality is not available for non-subscribers.
So, thanks again. Now we can taste IWDEE scenes in a good resolution.
Looking at your peculiar robes I wonder if you're coming from the distant land of Krynn?
This is going to be my future battlecry!!!
You say you are a level 1 mage, yet you dress like a level 10...
What is your secret!
Edit october 25:
I was not replying to @AlveusMalcanter i had not seen his post until now!!!
I totally change my mind. Occasionally clothes make the mage, they especially make the most powerful 1st level mage ever!!!!!
Can I enquire if your are a Necromancer? You certainly seem to be oozing with wisdom!
Wait...
Which one is the fifth one? O,o'
Well... the fifth, of course! Wait...
From the third video it appears you don't appreciate a large quantity of goats. What is wrong with that? Care to explain?
One would assume your relative had a role in this film?
I realize he's not the primary culprit, but I question why anyone would want to credit him for the labours of another. So far as I can tell, he is a talented, charming, highly intelligent, and ruggedly handsome fellow; I hardly think he needs to hitch a ride on my, or any other hard-working mage's, cloak to achieve success in whatever fields he should see fit to pursue.
Posting it here for who hasn't seen it yet.
