How to pronounce Xvart?

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
Basically what the title says.. I've never been sure how to pronounce it and when I was younger I'd pronounce it Ex-Vart and it just sort of stuck. Is there a proper way? lol

    I pronounce xvart as smurf.

    X sounds like Z. Like Xzar, Xan and Xena.

    Xvart (zvart): an angry, giant surf that attacks travelers on the road, no matter how much better equipped they are, wielding only a short sword. Prone to screeching madly when attacking, and gurgling dramatically when dying.

    As others have said, the X is pronounced like a Z. I personally give a hard Z sound such that the sound is somewhat of a cross between an X and a Z, but that is my own personal flavor. I think the Monster Manual actually phonetically lists it as Zvart.

    I pronounce it "sh-vart" (with the 'v' halfway as a 'w'), but that might just be because of my accent. It sounds nicer to me.

    I pronounce them as "zart" but im lazy when I speak :)

    I personally recommend zvart or cksvart, favouring the first. Svart is probably fine too. This is why there have been tiny movements/pushes to remove 'x' from English.

    Dr. Harry Cox however strongly protests.

    It is actually a little known fact that the 'XV' combination are pronounced as an 'F'.
