For anyone installing Imoen romance, two suggestions: Don't use wheels of prophecy and don't use Ascension "improved player interaction" nor improved Balthazar.
I've done another playthrough just for experiment and I had way more banters.
It appears something in the later updates to those mods has broken compatibility with IR. I used to play them alongside each other in BGT with no problem. I did run into bugs with WoP back in the day, but they didn't hamper IR and were easy to fix with some investigation into the code. Unfortunately it's been a while and I wouldn't even remember where to start to find the compatibility error today.
It's a real shame, because IR and WoP are *the* essential mods to turn ToB into the full third part it was meant to be.
The second playthrough I mentioned on february 28 was with only one mod, and that mod was Imoen Romance.
In this playthrough, I didn't get the talk where Imoen resists his taint and doesn't give in (just to gain some attributes by her sheer own resolve). Nor I could talk about the
sharing power
I'm not sure it's only a matter of compatibility... sadly.
And just to be perfectly sure, before entering the Throne of Bhaal, I used Advancerealtime and ctrl+T hoping these dialogues would pop up.
I think they should be definitely event based... something odd is happening. Losing many of the dialogues I was intended to see is surely a disappointment.
Definitely didn't encounter that issue. Are you sure you didn't shut her down or something? The dialogues should occur based on events, not time. After every Bhaalspawn battle, to be precise.
It has been a while since I last played, but I believe a lot of Imoen's dialogue in ToB is based on an affection counter. There are a number of player initiated dialogue that increases that counter, so maybe you missed that?
@sarevok08 I don't suppose you're still around and can take a look if ascension/WoP updates are causing conflicts? Also, if you're able maybe upload the mod to github?
Count me as confused as well. From what I know about both mods, there shouldn't be anything in how WoP changes the campaign to block IR, but I also played with WoP far too long ago.
@sarevok08 I don't suppose you're still around and can take a look if ascension/WoP updates are causing conflicts? Also, if you're able maybe upload the mod to github?
With the mod more or less finished, a github might not be the biggest priority, and there may be logistical issues. But I remember some discussion in a related discord server about the idea of helping fix latent and future errors (like the problem with IEP that came up recently), and add content and crossmod content, with the IR team approval of course. A github to allow that, might and pointing to the webpage to download the last stable release not be a bad idea. Just point to the webpage to download the latest release.
Isewein, in the last playthrough, I had the "timed" dialogue you mention, right after killing every Bhaalspawn.
But only one mention of the taint.
So my question is... which dialogues have I been missing? Because I've got 0 clue on how many I haven't seen. And I was curious to try to tell Imoen to give in in one playthrough and to resist in the second to see if there were differences. Sadly enough, I don't think my curiosity will be sated.
okay, another issue. Now I'm in Saradush tavern trying to spend some quality time with Imoen. I get a fade to black, then the game goes back to the party, but I can't control anyone.
Any suggestion?

@Sarevok08 Even if the chance of you reading this is small, in case you do, please evaluate if it's really worth your time to fix compatibility with a mod as unstable and prone to all sort of gamebreaking bugs as wheels of prophecy, instead of fixing IR real bugs (if there is any real bug report, of course). Thank you.

If you want to avoid the bug, before choosing the option to spend some quality time with Imoen, rest at the inn normally. Then the bug won't fire up.
Edit:
Just a quick edit: Imoen romance worked perfectly in this playthrough. I didn't PID were so essential to her, and this time, I could choose the ending I mentioned in my spoilers.
So, this is what I recommend people to do if you wish to play Imoen romance and unlock the endings:
1) In Throne of Bhaal, as soon as you do the first challenge, start talking with imoen (by clicking the "talk" button and using it on her).
2) Do it every time you do a new challenge.
3) Do not skip the Tavern talks (both in saradush and Amkethran, by clicking the relative option while talking to the innkeeper).
4) Try sleeping also in the pocket plane, there is a particular encounter with her that happened to me after fighting your evil doppelganger.
5) In my playthrough, the last talk related to the taint was about her resolve. Then you can unlock the ending I mentioned before in the spoiler, if everything worked perfectly.
With regards to the ending options to choose to dual-Ascend with Imoen to godhood, or to make her into one of your heralds, I believe Isewein is correct; you need to have reached enough affection (not necessarily romanced because I DO remember seeing an ending in there for a friendship-Imoen who also becomes your herald, though not co-gods) AND you must have also raised the topic with Imoen prior to the ending. It's possible that you either had insufficient affection (which I personally doubt if you got the option to spend quality time with her at the inn in Saradush), or you missed talking to Imoen about what you want to do with regards to Bhaal's divinity. I believe it's also important to mention to Imoen that you WANT to become a god; if you consistently pick options where you say you would like to remain mortal, then Imoen will assume that you'd be happy to remain mortal (her preferred choice) with her and will not have enough time to consider and be open to the godhood options.
2) It's not exactly clear to me why Imoen has chosen to ascend with me, given that all I told her was that I would stay with her forever and to absolutely resist the taint. I guess she didn't want to lose me, but I have got 0 clue on how to make her a handmaiden, especially if you are in love with her.
I actually have 0 clue even about how you are you supposed to make her renounce to the ascension - wouldn't it be enough to tell her to resist the taint, like I did? 0 clue.
3) Question: I checked the .tra and I noticed there is a reference to a Bracelet named Calcen. That's the description:
This bracelet is made of some strange material the color of bronze, with intricate obsidian carvings all around its surface. You have learned the symbols belong to one of the many Tanar'ri dialects spoken throughout the Abyss. They were engraved by the demon Xaglaroth in order to magically imprison his nemesis within the bracelet, the Deva Sorenthis.
Upon striking a deal with the demon, Calcen has become a dark conduit to drain Sorenthis of his angelic energy, transferring many of its benefits to the wearer. Both spellcasting and physical prowess are significantly improved. The bracelet also became inexplicably heavy.
Imoen continues to be horrified with the item and disgusted by your actions, and she refuses to have anything to do with it anymore.
Does anyone know where this bracelet can be gained? I would bet Watcher's keep.
If anyone has any command so I can play the quest related to this, I would be curious.
Does anyone know where this bracelet can be gained? I would bet Watcher's keep.
It's an "upgraded" version of the bracelet that Imoen steals from the merchant in Waukeen's Promenade.
At the start of ToB Imoen initiates a quest to translate the symbols on it. That version is the reward for finishing the quest the evil way
Edit:
If you want to see the requirements for each endings there's a .baf file you look through. It's under imoenRomance\scripts\TOB\Epilogues\.
It only list the variables though. If you want to know how each variable gets set you'll probably need to go digging in the dialogue files in nearinfinity.

Thanks a lot. For my last playthrough I started in Throne of Bhaal (I imported my old save with Imoen from SoA). Do you have any command I could use to force the quest to start? I am very curious.
Using the command CLUAConsole:CreateItem("bob",1) doesn't work either. And I can't find Bob in Eekeeper either.
As for the quest, now idea how to start it. I think it was player initiated dialogue or maybe it triggers at some point in Saradush. If you can't get it to trigger on your own you'd have to use nearinfinity to figure it out.
Done the quest by starting an old savegmae I had in SoA where I had imoen romance installed. I didn't need your command, but thanks!!
The quest starts in Saradush, right after you bring the book to Lazarus. Imoen will mention the bracelet to Lazarus and he will tell he needs time to study it.
Your next step starts when you reach amkethran. Go to him and speak to him. Then wait 48 hours and do the quest.
Note that you can do this simply via console if you are curious about the quest (simply speak to him in Saradush, then teleport right after to Amkethran as I did in my test).
I can tell you that if you are Evil, this quest allows you a very dark resolution that I didn't expect at all. And as an evil player, it made me feel bad - something that doesn't happen usually.
Question: once you come out of the Underdark, and MC and Imoen have their night, the next message is Imoen needs time to think. What global variables should be up at that time? This event has occurred but now nothing follows. What triggers Imoen to speak again?

Can't recall what variables should be set, but the romance continues after you defeat Bodhi.

Ok, I realized I hadn't checked in on where things were up to for a good while, but fortunately, it seems like a few other members of the community have been able to help in some situations, so thanks for that.
In terms of GitHub upload, I'm not sure how helpful that would be? As far as I'm aware, the zip file you can download in the link below would be exactly the same as that uploaded to GitHub, but without the ability to lodge issues I guess? http://imoen.blindmonkey.org/downloads.php
In relation to the bug that was highlighted, I'll try and see what I can figure out with it. I wasn't the one who finished up the coding for the mod, that was Vanatos, but I can try and take a look at it when I get a chance.
I remember seeing comments saying the best way to experience this mod is with a smaller modlist because IR can be quite unstable if you have too many mods. But there are some mods that I really want to experience in this playthrough, so just asking here, has anyone used IR with quest mods (acifer's and lava's ones), all friendships packs, Wing from Skitia, and banter packs without significant problem?
I haven't done the coding for this, so I'm not sure myself. My recommendation would be, if it is new content, it is likely fine. Friendship packs should be fine, though perhaps avoid Imoen's one if it exists. Wings should be fine, as it is expanding on Aerie. I imagine the quest pack is fine, as long as it is new quests, and minimal changes to existing quests.
Thank you, hopefully everything goes well in this run
I forgot to mention that I will also use components 1 and 5 from Heroes, thieves and moneylenders mod, to add more reactions and interjections, but i think it touches some vanilla quests. If anyone knows HMT works well with IR, please let me know.

Hello! When I coded Component 1 from HTaM, I took into account the dialogue from the Imoen Romance and added new Imoen's interjections only where the Imoen Romance had not already done so. So there shouldn't be any problems with component 1.
I haven’t tested component 5 together with IR, to be honest, so I can’t say for sure about compatibility with it, but I assume that it should also be compatible.
I ran IR on BGT Big World installs, with pretty much all quest and dialogue expansion mods available then installed. Can't remember any issues. I think any incompatibility is mostly with regard to mods that significantly alter the flow of events in the game rather than add to it, e.g. Wheels of Prophecy or Imoen Forever.
I haven't found Imoen Forever to be technically incompatible. They might clash writing wise, but not as much as one would think; I4E only adds content before Brynnlaw, so they don't overlap, and it falls mostly to personal suspension of disbelief. If anything, the mods could use some touches to bridge the disconnect between the pre-Spellhold IR content assuming Imoen is not there and her, well, actually being there, but it's not really a problem and can easily be handwaved away.
I remember reading somewhere that IR should be installer earlier than other NPC expansion mods because of some overwriting, but I'm assuming that's very old advice from the time where mods overwrote things instead of patching/modifying them like now.
Thank you, hopefully everything goes well in this run

Hello, i included a fix for the somewhat buggy saradush tavern scene reported on this page.
Actually this bug is caused if you never had imoen dreams when getting to TOB, which means you didn't actually play the romance through SOA and used the option when you summon Imoen in TOB to force the romance to be successful.
This was put in by request for people who wanted to just start TOB and not go through SOA (not sure why).
I cannot say in fact if you play like this the romance would all work correctly, as i never tested this.
Thanks Sarevok08 for still keeping in touch with the mod here.

I've done another playthrough just for experiment and I had way more banters.
It's a real shame, because IR and WoP are *the* essential mods to turn ToB into the full third part it was meant to be.
In this playthrough, I didn't get the talk where Imoen resists his taint and doesn't give in (just to gain some attributes by her sheer own resolve). Nor I could talk about the
I'm not sure it's only a matter of compatibility... sadly.
And just to be perfectly sure, before entering the Throne of Bhaal, I used Advancerealtime and ctrl+T hoping these dialogues would pop up.
I think they should be definitely event based... something odd is happening. Losing many of the dialogues I was intended to see is surely a disappointment.
Anyway, no matter.

Thank you.
See here what is going wrong: https://www.gibberlings3.net/forums/topic/37977-bug-with-imoen-romance/#comment-335128
A huge thanks to Lava for pointing out the issue.
Upon striking a deal with the demon, Calcen has become a dark conduit to drain Sorenthis of his angelic energy, transferring many of its benefits to the wearer. Both spellcasting and physical prowess are significantly improved. The bracelet also became inexplicably heavy.
Imoen continues to be horrified with the item and disgusted by your actions, and she refuses to have anything to do with it anymore.
Does anyone know where this bracelet can be gained? I would bet Watcher's keep.
If anyone has any command so I can play the quest related to this, I would be curious.
Can't recall what variables should be set, but the romance continues after you defeat Bodhi.
Thanks!
In terms of GitHub upload, I'm not sure how helpful that would be? As far as I'm aware, the zip file you can download in the link below would be exactly the same as that uploaded to GitHub, but without the ability to lodge issues I guess?

In relation to the bug that was highlighted, I'll try and see what I can figure out with it. I wasn't the one who finished up the coding for the mod, that was Vanatos, but I can try and take a look at it when I get a chance.
I remember reading somewhere that IR should be installer earlier than other NPC expansion mods because of some overwriting, but I'm assuming that's very old advice from the time where mods overwrote things instead of patching/modifying them like now.
Thanks for telling, I guess the other component that affecting the thieves guild should be not problem as well:)
