If I'm down co-oping with my boyfriend the whole night: Nutella, the one's in those little packets. Followed by nuts of some kind, then m&m's.

On topic: I also find it extremely appropriate to eat ice cream while playing Icewind Dale EE. And not just because I've been playing consistently really late at night after a long hard day at work.

You wouldn't say that if you were in Icewind Dale I can guarantee that. It's so cold where I am right now that I can feel the cold seep through the windows and the heater can barely keep up. The last thing on my mind is a cold treat.

I can feel the cold seep through my window too.Its not even that cold at the moment. Though that might because I'm in halls and the window is really badly insulated

But... Immersion. Think of the immersion!

Nah, you're right, of course it would be silly in real Icewind Dale. But that's why I'm eating it in front of a computer within the comfort of my home and not in a frigid wasteland. :P

Of course not! What kind of date would THAT be?

How about the best date ever? Of all time?

Only if she's willing to play with you. Or "he" in my case. :P

THEN it's the best date ever. :D

I personally like a couple of glasses of wine (only red...white wine gives my the worst headaches, and I don't enjoy the taste anyway) and some crackers or pita chips. And Halloween candy. We have so much damn Halloween candy left over I've made it my mission to rid the house of it, one tasty morsel at a time.

I like a punnet of chilled seedless grapes - it's finger food that you can eat without taking your eyes off the screen, and its appropriate for the pseudo medieval setting. I few cubes of a nice, sharp but non crumbly cheese is a real bonus.

In the good old days when I could drink, a pint of Pendlewitch was great, especially if I was playing a spell caster.

At the risk of being disagreeable I beg to disagree. I like my tea bag tea, choose it right and treat it right and its just as good as leaves! Kenyan when I can get it (only in New Zealand, not here in the UK), English Breakfast, lapsahng souchou, Earl Gray, herbal and fruits ... a different flavour for every mood. To add to the tea debate there are two things that make a HUGE difference to how good a cuppa tastes.
1/. Don't reboil the water - empty the kettle completely, and use fresh water every time. It saves on the power bill as well.
2/. If you have a high lime scale content in your water, use a filtered kettle.

Beef jerky (steak spice or something hot) and Jalapeno Ms Vickie's.

Seeing as you will be thirsty, wash it down with a bottle or 2 of dry sherry.

@procco‌, I've seen pita chips around at my local grocery store, but I have yet to try them. I think I can reasonably surmise what they're like without trying them, but I'm sure they'd be worth my money, nonetheless.

@kiwidoc‌: Grapes are a good choice. As for the cheese, certainly a nice idea as well, but there's something tantalizing about crumbly cheese, however messy. :3

Surströmming. Canned goodness and holy food of Ghaunadaur. Can't go wrong with this dish.

A glass of water: quenches thirst, is healthy and doesn't give a mess (except for incidentally spilling it over the keyboard).

Canned rotten herring, yummy! This stuff makes "Stinking Cloud" into a fresh summer breeze by comparison. Death by smell.

Pickled herring in a glass jar makes me want to find a Power Cell so I can chat with it.

Blood, rum, and coke is a delicious combination.

    Not...Not that I would know.

    Um.

I prefer my blood neat though i often have a slice of lime on the glass

Knob Creek is a very good bourbon. But sherry is very cheap, and some is surprisingly pleasant to drink. Well, over imbibe is more accurate. ;)

Good jerky is far too good... especially if you're a bit of a glutton for unhealthy products.
  • wubblewubble Member Posts: 3,156
jerky is very nice, unfortunately it's rather hard to come by in the uk

personally i prefer scotch to bourbon (but anything is good)
  • DreadKhanDreadKhan Member Posts: 3,857
There is actually a serious argument to be made for the very best bourbons. Cheap ones are bad, but some have both nuance and smoothness you'd expect in a properly aged single malt. Or very good blend. Yes, they exist.
  • wubblewubble Member Posts: 3,156
I'm sure they do. Unfortunately on a student budget I'm restricted to the contents of my dad's cupboard, good whisky is rather expensive
