I am new to Baldur's Gate and this is thanks to the Android port. I still find it pretty hard and am tired of saving/loading (my experience is with Skyrim (I know that it's not the same genre) which is much easier) but will try to slow my pace, explore more and level up so it would become a bit more easier in the future.

Hello and welcome! BG can be very hard for beginners especially if you're not used to old school (D&D) RPGs. It will get easier down the road, but it may also be very frustrating at times. You should definitely explore a lot so you don't miss out on the better equipment in the game. The main storyline can actually be pretty easy if you come well prepared so take your time and explore at least most places before you advance too much.

Taking time to read spell descriptions and getting your head around thac0 and ac will make things go much more smoothly. BG is awesome though and you won't regret the purchase.
