@Permidion_Stark We *do* still have five fighters up. And Alora is gonna wake with some kinda knot on her forehead and two black eyes. I'll post for @lolien and @scriver.
So, Minsc drops to bandage Aerie. Anomen strikes a goblin, killing it. Khalid swings out a sword and decapitates a goblin. Arkanis growls, "Goblin scum!" and chops the goblin in half lengthwise. Jaheira batters a fourth into unconsciousness.
Not expecting the ferocity of this response, the goblins falter. The party wins initiative. Tired and hurting (and angry, but unable to rage at the present time), Minsc misses. Anomen kills another goblin, Arkanis drops another. Jaheira hammers another goblin into death (with a 20!) and Khalid kills a fourth.
With 8 of their number dead, the goblins turn and begin running, everyone gets a free attack, and the last of the goblins go down hard. Everyone gets 30 exp.
Alora slowly wakes up with a thumping headache and no memory of what happened. She puts her hand up to her forehead and feels the lump that has appeared there. She's growing a horn!
"You make this trip an exciting one, Alora. Just try to aim away from me, when using those pebble stones next time." Arkanis look through the goblin corpses, if they have any telling item from this place. "So, we should search through those watery room and then ask the mini giants for some information. However this screaming thing save us the walking and searching, so continue if you'd like."
Even Alora agrees that rest is a good idea at this point. She is a little chastened by her recent experiences. However, before she eats some sustaining chocolate cake she will spike the door marked 'Employees Only' to make sure the minitaurs can't come and gore everyone in their sleep.
Okay, you rest. Alora finds herself sore, her head throbbing most painfully so that she is unable to rest. But she is also so weak and wobbly that she can't move much (someone else, like Arkanis, had to spike the door for her.
After 8 hours of rest, neither Aerie nor Jan have awoken. In fact, it takes a full day (or druidical healing) for them to awaken (actually, this would have happened for Alora, too- resting in a dungeon is not very restful at all). In short, it takes the party a day and a half to recover completely, get their hp back through healing, then rest and re-memorize spells. Until they are healed completely, Alora, Aerie and Jan have two black eyes, making them look like hungover raccoons.
In that time, you find "little guy" bones in the shark pool, proving that they were, indeed, the menace the little guys said they were, but no actual treasure. The water is clean and clear, so you can drink it, but there is no food to be found. Possibly, this is why the sharks attacked you and the "Little Guys". Instead, you consume rations to keep up your strength.
While they rest Alora keeps as far away from Anomen as possible. She keeps having nightmares where his face appears on a shark's body and he threatens to feed her to the goblins.
When she feels a bit better Alora whispers to Aerie: "I think we should go and look in the room with the cows in because it looked like there might be some interesting stuff in there. But they seemed like quite angry cows so I don't think I should be the one who has to go first."

OOC: I just wanna say, now I'M going to have nightmares of sharks with Anomen's face on them and threatening to feed me to the goblins.
Aerie was still feeling a little woozy after her long, long, apparently very long nap. The last she remembered, she'd heard the yips and shrieks of a goblin party, a blow to the back of her head, and the next, she woke up feeling like she'd drunk too much the day before. It actually took her a while to remember where she was.
After a while, she finally began to feel like herself again, having prayed to earn her spells back. Still. Not the most comfortable time of her life.
At least I'm not in a cage, she reminded herself.
Upon hearing Alora's request, Aerie blinked. "Oh... Y-Yes, I agree. We also might find more clues about Culum's father." Though she paused and glanced around at the rest of the party members for direction. "What does everyone else think?"
"I do not fear these mini-taurs," Jaheira stated. "And it makes little sense to turn back, now." She was slightly concerned about the head injuries to the party' but it seemed that all would be well. "Better leadership is in order." While she would pick herself, Aerie was a little better suited, as she was far from melee and had a bodyguard.
"Shall I unspike the door then?" asks Alora. "If no one tells me not to, I am going to unspike the door."
And then, as if the idea has just occurred to her, she adds: "And I think the leader should be someone who doesn't shout at people for no good reason because that's not what leaders are supposed to do and leaders shouldn't tell other people that they can be leader and then complain that they have gone running off without waiting because you are supposed to follow the leader not dawdle behind and it is not the leader's fault if you can't keep up so when you get attacked by sharks you are not ready and it's not like I didn't give you a warning I shouted sharks and cows and as it turned out we didn't even have to worry about the cows only the sharks so I don't know why everyone is making such a fuss because it was nowhere near as bad as it could have been. "
Alora pauses for breath: "So, do I unspike the door or not?"
"Your thoughts on leadership appear to omit important details, such as acting like a petulant child, to say nothing of shrieking fits of foolishness that nearly get half of the party killed." Alora was an idiot and Jaheira knew better than to bandy words with her, yet had taken the bait. "Arrgh." This was so frustrating.
I agree with you gnome. It comes from undisciplined attitudes such as convincing a child to follow us though a dungeon or having a member run far ahead of the group without any recourse on how to defend themselves if they get into danger.
A leader isnt the person running aroubd in front. A leader is the person that is capable of making rational descisions without endangering others. A leader also doesnt make excuses.
The door should remain spiked until we figure out what to do with Culum here. He should not be exposed to these horrors.
Did I tell you the story of Ano, the ork? This is one ork who wasn't too bright, but was exceptionally lucky! Once upon a time, he was wandering through the woods (on some important orkish business of his, I presume) and managed to get into a bear trap! Of course, it wasn't set up for him. But he got in there still. Being a strong one, naturally, he could force the trap open and escaped, leaving nothing but a trail of his blood behind.
The point of the story is, Ano actually blamed the trap itself for capturing him!
@deltago I figured that was the case. So, who wants to be leader? I am figuring, at this point, it's either Anomen or Jaheira, because @scriver hasn't been around and @lolien is also not around enough. Given how everyone feels about Alora, they're probably not going to want to follow Mr. I am SMRT, either (even if I think @cyberhawk would make a good leader).
Aerie's brow furrowed a little as she thought. Of the many of them, Jaheira and Anomen seemed the most fit for leadership. Both were eager enough to boss everyone else around. They spoke harshly to Alora and the others, but they were also quick and direct. Not to mention, they were both excellent in a fight.
"Perhaps...we should put it to a vote?" she suggested. "Between Jaheira and Anomen? You two seem the most interested in the role."
OOC: As much as I like the idea of Aerie being leader, she wouldn't ever nominate herself.
@Nonnahswriter Another person with good writing ability, but the character is hesitant and tentative. Being a party leader is like herding fractious tomcats. She would not be good at insisting they do things her way. Minsc, likewise, does not have the intelligence and Wisdom on his own (character-wise) to do well in the job. Aerie, with Minsc as charge leader/enforcer, could work, but she won't think of herself like that, as you said.
OOC my lack of contact during weekday makes me better as griping follower. I think hesitant Aerie would be great with super helpful Alora or whatnot helping her along

Apologies to everyone. I seem to have got you into a bit of a mess.

"Help me, I'm turning into a duck!" she sobs.

We need to rest. Now.
We also need to establish some orderand direction in this group if we are to get out of here alive.

Finally, you are able to continue on.

Looking at Anomen: "Don't you agree, that the dangers within a dungeon not always come from the monsters inside the dungeon?"

"I think Aerie would be our better choice, as a leader. But i propose a vote."
Helm forgive us if he stays and we stumble upon the bones of his drunkard father in some shark infested pool of water.
