Alora hurries back to the office to report what she has seen to Aerie.
She then informs Anomen: "It doesn't help knowing what Culum's dad's name is because Jaheira won't let you shout it anyway."
With that off her mind she then goes to explore the passageway to the south, looking for traps and secret doors as she goes.
She has just started down the passage when a thought occurs to her:
Maybe the minitaurs used to be in the cage and maybe you are not supposed to feed meat to minitaurs? Maybe something bad happens if you feed meat to minitaurs?
She wonders whether she should share this thought with the group. But she thinks Anomen will just laugh at her and tell her not to be so stupid so she keeps going south . . .
To the south is the cavern with all the stalagtites and Stalacmites. There is a thin passage which you could squeeze through to get out of the office, but remembering the creature with the teeth which you accidentally hit with your sling stone, Alora finds herself hesitant to squeeze through.
Alora doesn't like the look of the passageway south so she goes back to the office where she stands behind Minsc and peers at the minitaurs. "Minsc," she whispers (feeling fairly certain that Minsc at least won't laugh at her) "Do you think those minitaurs are getting any bigger?"
Aerie had pretty much given up trying to control Alora. The mischievous halfling was just too small and fast and wild--Aerie doubted that she would listen to her if she scolded her not to run off. Besides, she was quite good at finding traps and scouting. Perhaps her sleuthing about could help them better avoid ambushes in the future.
...Or she could always accidentally stumble upon one and bring it back to them, but Aerie tried not to think so negatively.
"Zando?" Aerie repeated, having overheard Anomen and Culum. "So, that desk is your father's? He worked here? What did he do?"
Without waiting for a reply, Alora heads down the east corridor. "I'll go and check if this way is safe," she calls back over her shoulder, "And if it is you can decide if we should go down it."
Unimpressed by Anomen's take on this, Jaheira decided that she could not possibly care any less about who owned the unused desk, or why. As for what was in it, she thought it might prove useful to their investigation as they searched for the missing deadbeat dad of the dimwit kid (who still hadn't left them alone). Regardless, she felt a bit protective of the Halfling, so she slid to a place, where she could watch the childlike thing check the passage for danger. "Have a care," she warned the girl, "for there are things in here that might not respond kindly to trespassers."
What are you talking about? Who aren't you suppose to give meat to?
Alora decides to risk an explanation: "In the next room there is an empty cage and there is a sign that says 'Danger. Do Not Feed Meat'. I think whatever was in there was eating meat because there are bones on the floor. And I think whatever was in there has got out. And I think the minitaurs might have been in there and I think we weren't supposed to feed them meat. And I think when they wake up they might be dangerous. Because we did feed them meat. Even though shark meat isn't really meat, It's fish. But it still might be meat. That's what I think."
Alora goes back to hiding behind Minsc while she waits for Anomen to start pointing out how no one is interested in what she thinks because she is stupid and annoying.

Alora, missing Jaheira's attempt to be kind, replies: "I'm not trespassing. I paid to get in. You didn't so you are the one who is trespassing, so nah."
"Oh dear." Alora might not have much confidence in what she was saying, but Aerie took her words very seriously. She peered at the sleeping minitaurs from the corners of her eyes, and then at the doors in the room. "Perhaps it would be best if we left, then... Before they awaken?"
"But if we leave them we won't ever know if it is them that we shouldn't feed. And we'd have to spike the door so they couldn't get out. And then they'd get hungry again. And they might not be the things we shouldn't feed"
It certainly is a dilemma.
"I'll go back to the cave with the cage to see if I can find anymore clues."
Alora goes back to the cage with the cage to see if she can find anymore clues.
*Calmly* Some one should go to the cage and see if they can find anything that might suggest these beasts were kept there. A tuff of fur, a distinct foul smell, something.
I will examine the papers on and around desk for any clues as to what was in he cage, perhaps a map or something.
This seems to our way back to surface and I dont want it blocked by ravaging anything.
The men should guard the beast until we know for certain that these creatures were not in the cage.
"Oh, how quaint," Jaheira grumbled. "The half-wits are play-acting." Her momentary sympathy for the Halfling imbecile had become a distant memory, as the annoyance continued doing what she did best. As for the hulking sword swinger, she figured that he'd say just about anything, whether or not it made any sense.

Do you agree with this assessment Lady Aerie?
"Yes. Jaheira, you know the most about animals than any of us. Perhaps you could accompany Alora to the cage?"
There is no skull, but Jaheira can tell that these are the bones of a bear. Old bones, too, at least a few years old. They don't seem to be gnawed on, and are so clean, they were probably stripped by insects.
Alora shuffles about and looks at the ground: "We found some of what used to be a bear. Some of it was there. And some of it wasn't. That's probably evidence of something."
"Indeed," Jaheira pointed out, very bothered that something had happened to a 'fellow' bear. Not one to appear faint of heart, she was, nevertheless, quite distressed on the inside. "Ducks and miniature minotaurs are likely the least of our concerns. We must be cautious where nature has been subverted."
There is also a corridor running south(ish) out of the cave room. If you look down it, you see it continues at least 30' before kinking to the right a bit. Beyond that, you can't see where it goes.

Alora goes back to the office and is worried that she is going to be accused of scaremongering. She decides to get out of the way for a bit.
"Aerie is it okay if I go an tell the small giants that we killed the sharks so they don't have to be scared of them anymore?"
