It's been done but I've not seen this thread for a while now...

    I am playing pure class Ranger right now. I like the option to use metal armor, particularly Elven chain and the disadvantages of the various Ranger sub-classes bother me.

    I've got a party of all dual-classes: a Ranger/Cleric, Cleric/Ranger, Fighter/Druid, Druid/Fighter, Thief/Mage, and Mage/Thief. But my Charname is a Bounty Hunter/Mage, so it's a mage, I suppose.

    Normally I play lots of casters, mostly Mages or Cleric/Mages. More options that way.

    A lawful neutral elf barbarian/mage who wields a sword that is a ranged weapon. He also has a pet squirrel.

    Several, but if I had to specify a "main" playthrough at the moment, it'd be my half-orc cleric of Kelemvor in BG2. He's a fun one.

    CN blade in my current BG1. Who is a complete loony. And a goody goody pally in BG2. But am also planning a ranger. Have never tried out one of those yet and it's becoming embarrassing having playing the game since it came out

    Whilst I've had great fun playing Clerics and Mages I keep going back to Fighters.
    For some reason I've never felt the inclination to play a thief, but I suppose I should sometime as I like the way that different classes make a difference to how I play the early game (before I've acquired a full party).

    I'm a monk in BG. Very difficult keeping him alive (lackluster AC and HP, but great saves)...

    Bard - Skald build.

    I enjoyed the versatility of bard in Neverwinter Nights and NWN2. I would multi-class into a warrior to give him the ability to stand toe-to-toe with some enemies.

    I can't do it in BG, but I can still be the best bard I can be damn it.

    Fortunately Skald and even more so the Blade are perfectly capable melee fighters with some decent weapons and/ thac0 improving items. Best suggestion I could make is to get 19 or more strength asap.

    In BG:EE (my first EE playthrough):

    Thief-Illusionist

    BG:EE run as another user (shift-rightclick on the .exe 'run as different user') so I can have parallel campaigns:

    Totemic Druid

    In BGII:EE (my first enhanced Shadows of Amn):

    vanilla Mage (he's my only mage in the party and I found it hard to exclude schools, thus vanilla, the only other arcane caster in my intended setup is Keto the Bard, I hope it is sufficient, I usually run with 2 1/2 arcane casters instead of 1 1/2)

    Play wild and exclude no schools :)
