If you know what Dungeon Meshi is, you might be interested to know that the author actually did all the NPC portraits for BGEE and BG2EE. Probably a commission.
Good to see someone made an actual portrait pack. Though I need to mentioned that Aerie seems to be missing from it.
Btw does anyone know if the artist posts her artwork anywhere currently? As I understand this blog https://nklerwjrejhshaasl.tumblr.com/ is no longer updated, while the other one was deleted. I still wonder if the artist will draw the remaining portraits.
As the lord of the rings lore has a big influence on how i imagine dwarves a female without beard and so different from a male dwarf, lets say korgan, seems strange to me
But the portrait is outstanding and the gif gives a good insight on how the artist works.
Really appreciated, thank you!
I view my dwarves in my head canon more like the Marcus Heitz ones from the "Dwarves" series or the D.P. Prior "Nameless Dwarf" ones, at least the females, @gorgonzola . This portrait fits that image for me and could be a priest, thief, or fighter.
Here are some portraits of Jason Momoa's Conan, which I use as Abdel Adrian's character portraits for my latest whole BG series run (left one is for BG+SOD, the latter is for BGII+TOB):
Sorry for triple posting, but it seems that no one else is interested in this thread anymore
I have but a small commission for you - great photoshop artists - today:
Could anyone add an eye patch to this gnoll portrait by Jarrod Owen? Whichever eye you like, it doesn't really matter.
I've made a Halfling-to-Gnome conversion with some Photoshop magic.
This is the the original picture (clearly of a Hafling). I can't find the original source (maybe someone is better at image googling than me?) but I get the feeling this could be an official D&D or Paizo portrait? All credits to the original artist.
This is Alphanzo, dual wielding knife fighter and master illusionist (who on occation likes to throw a fireball or two as well):
I feel the nose should be more pronounced for a 2e gnome. A slightly enlarged torso might also help to evoke their stockier AD&D anatomy. Otherwise nice edit.

I hope that this is of use: Slightly edited after seeing that the cord extended to where it shouldn't have been.
I realised immediately that posting without the artists permission was against the policy of this thread, so I will pm you with the image that I have made.
EDIT
I did pm you but am not sure if I pressed the post button or not. Let me know if I didn't.

Correct, I went for the more elfin Gnome of third edition and forward. But for those who prefer, here is Alphonzo's cousin Bignose:

Tried it as well and couldn't find the name of the artist in question. What I did find is that it's an official artwork from Paizo's Pathfinder Second Edition Core Rulebook. Apparently that halfling is meant to be a Cleric/Sorcerer of Pharasma, the goddess of death and rebirth. Her holy weapon is the dagger. And that brooch depicts the holy symbol of said deity.

Damn you @Kamigoroshi for your excellent feedback! It totally got under my skin. Once you pointed the scrawniness out, I could not let it go. So I had to go 20+ layers deep in Photoshop and add some muscles. But now everyone got the stockier gnome with or without a big nose according to personal preferences. As Cespenar says: Enjoy! :-D
My own preference is to have portraits Icewind Dale style. That is, to have a portrait of the head for the small portrait and the full body with appropriate background for the large portrait. Examples of my admittedly not great artwork can be seen on the No-reloads thread. Whenever their is the possibility of doing that, that is what I do, preferably with my own background. Sadly using my own background isn't always possible due to the arwork making that impossible. With this gnome it is perfectly possible. I have great difficulty in changes nose shapes. They never look natural afterwards. That's the difference between an artist and a journeyman. I can add an eyepatch. That's easy. I can add a new background. That's not too hard either, but changing the shape of a character without making it look wrong is an artist's work.
Full body portraits are really nice to have in games. Kingmaker did the best imho, given its 692x1024 resolution for big portraits. Just gives so much more canvas to work with than otherwise bust portaits would grant.
I decided to share some portraits I had fun making. These are various NPC portraits from Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, as well as Neverwinter Nights. I wanted a bit more color and contrast, and I wanted them to sort of fit together.
And then open your pic editor software and crop/cut them one by one, 18 times, to save them as individual files.
I could do that (and I probably will if I have to ), but I could also ask politely if coblin has them available somewhere
@Arthandas The artist's name is Jacob Probelski. He used to have accounts on both artstation and deviantart in the past. Now only his account on epilogue remains.

Thanks! I trudged through the webarchive and managed to find what I presume is the original:
really like this to be used as portrait but I hope she does not have the scars...I'm posting here with the hope that someone can help to remove the scars, thanks~

*Imagines Aerie with this anime portrait talking in Japanese* Damn, that would be super adorable!

Literally *screams* Icewind Dale 2 to me! Ghostwise halflings need some love too after all.
