Help.

How do I install mods on windows 10?

It's been about a year since I last played and have a new laptop. Sure there was a guide to installing them on here before but I can't find it anywhere.

I'm having a total brain freeze up.

You install them the same way you always did. Windows 10 doesn't change a thing in that respect.

What did change with the EE is the folder structure. Maybe that's confusing you? But if it was just a year ago, maybe you modded the EE before? It really should work just the same as it did on previous versions of Windows.

The difference is more where you bought it from. Buying from GOG, the games are put in C:\GOG games\, from Steam, it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\. I don't recall where Beamdog puts them.

The easiest way to find your games is search your C: drive for the file "chitin.key", then copy your mods into that directory and install from there.

You might also want to search the forums for Big World Setup. This is a GUI front end for the Big World Project, a database that keeps track of where to download mods, which are compatible, and which order they need to be installed. You just fire it up, point it at your game, and pick which mods you want from the list. It will download and install them for you.
