Patch 2.0 and tthe SCS compability

Seeing a lot of questions on this subject, I went away and tried to install the latest version of the SCS mod (30) on the BG2EE beta.
And... I couldn't.
I ran the installer (chitin.key is in the beta folder), chose the options but had an error:
Is it a beta-specific thing, or will I have the same results when the final version of the patch is installed?
Does it mean that we'll have to wait for a future SCS update to run the 2.0 version with this awesome mod?

The Beta is a separate program (uses the separate game files), so it needs a new independent install of the SCS mod.
When the patch will go live, and if you download it, it will clear the whole override folder of the game, so the SCS mod will have to be installed again.
I think because the dialog.tlk file has changed after the last update.
So many string ref are different now.
I 'install' scs this way on my Ipad and across various installations, I made an installation only once, and I keep that 'perfectly modded' override folder and copy paste inside files where needed.
Ofcourse, if dialog.tlk is editted, it may cause bugs. WHY oh why did they edit dialog.tlk and change string entries, it wrecks compatability with most if not all mods. Unless they added tons of new text, which I highly doubt, I see no need to tamper with dialog.tlk. It just overly and needlessly complicates things.
Also note that if any other files that SCS patches have been updated in 2.0, you're still using the older version of that file.
"Let's not update this, because we'd have to update the dialog.tlk file." is absolute nonsense, sorry.
You'll just have to be patient and wait for SCS to be updated to be 2.0 compatible.

They added:
- The Priest of Tyr kit (which means new strings for kit description, new tooltip, new abilities)
- The Shaman kit (which means new strings for kit description, new tooltip, new abilities, new spells)
- New Graphic Options (which means new strings for options description)
- New dialogues with Candlekeep tutors (which means new strings for all the new lines)
- Miscellaneous stuff
Eventually @DavidW will update the mod for full compability. It is not such a big deal.

back before the EEs we had a game that never ever changed after the last patch by bioware.
Mods could rely on that base as a given, and add what they needed.
Now the base can change and mods will break, it's never going to be different until beamdog abandon the EEs and let them rest – then mods can be made "perfect" and stable again.
Still this is no bad thing – obviously, today modding can do more than was possible before the EEs.
So while they made modding harder for the moment, in long term they gave more options. It's a lose-small-now and win-big-later situation.

@ALIEN I tried BWS now, and it doesn't even go to installing the mods. I select the components etc. etc. following the guide on the forums here, on a separate install (via the assistant tool). It then prompts me to run the game, select language, create save. I do. And then it just ends, and nothing happens. When I resume from the script again, it does the same thing.
Is there a forum for BWS or something where I can do some troubleshooting?

Found a fix. List of code found here worked. Manually wrote it into the respective files and it installed properly right away. Seems the fixed files posted above are not all that are needed?
As for BWS, I'll deal with that some other time. Seems like a neat tool, but I've trimmed so many mods lately that I can just do it manually.
