The past few days in particular, but it's a frequent occurence really, I've had lots of reasons to smile when reading these here forums. Gotten help from Abel, Shandyr and Vasculio, had direct and honest responses from the developers and exchanged "witty" comments with the community in general. Lots of names I could list, but basically if I've responded to one of your posts, or you to one of mine, it's been a pleasant interaction.

Considering that the download for the patches and the expansion was kind of disastrous and there's some annoying bugs hanging around, I would have expected much more acid and fire. Yet people have mostly kept their cool even when it's understandable if they didn't. Yay for you EE community :)

    Ah, how things can change in 24 hours. I've come to the off topic forum for a break from it all actually and I was so happy to read your post :smile:

    The forums were a calm and friendly place till this weekend.
    I couldn't visit the forum this weekend because of RL.

    And what do I see now? :wink: A big thank you to all of those who tried to survive in the storm and to help others and still trying!

    Different gaming sites posting links to this forum didn't help, that's for sure.

    Now, let's bring the EE community to its usual self!

    I honestly considered leaving this forum for a month or two when this whole thing started. No offense, but I HATE politics, or rather the resorting to personal attacks that naturally comes with it, and have no interest in reading about it on a game forum. This is the real reason why I've never joined an online community until this one. That said, I think I'll stick around, though with many more facial bruises from facepalms, I'm sure.

    Actually no. I wrote this before "the threads". Though I stand by what I said. The EE community hasn't really changed or turned vitriolic, most of the bile is from entirely new accounts. That isn't to say all the newcomers are bad though, far from it. And a lot of the people who signed up merely to express their discontent actually have good points and have been civil about it.

    This place is still filled with great people. There's unsavoury sorts too, but that's nothing new. It's a lot more pleasant if you just scroll past people, threads and posts you disagree with and focus on the opposite ones.
