@sparkleavTake On Me is just the greatest video ever. And the Bangles are one of my all time favorites.
@Autequi Madonna was so much better before she went crazy. And Blinded by Science is one of my ringtones.
Picture disk vinyl. Surprising I don't have any new wave and the like on vinyl, all of that stuff is on cassette tape since Walkmen was the thing back then. What I have on vinyl is heavy metal from the late 80s, early 90s and collectables from the 50-60s.
That starman piece is wicked @BillyYank! Mine was just the Bluray, but that's not too shabby. Speaking of which, I think that plays this weekend here at the house. I'm due.
80s band but the single was released in '92/'93 (depending on which country you live in)...does that count? As it's Duran and I'm a Duranie I don't mind. It's a great song and fab album, The Wedding Album is one of my favourites
@Jepatrienosaksen Just no. '80s Genesis isn't Genesis. Only '60s - '70s Genesis is Genesis.
@BillyYank I agree with you 100% on the '80s genesis not real Genesis. Since this is a 1980s thread I thought I would choose one of those. Better than their invisible crap or we can't play stuff (not by much). I like to avoid their first album as well (fgtr).
Back in the MTV era, that was one of three songs I always associated with each other. My love for post-apocalyptic settings probably came from obsessing over those songs.
Thanks for bringing good memories to the fore of my mind with that post, @Troodon80. REO Speedwagon featured prominently on JROTC bus rides to different drill meets around the State of Florida. Good times.

I'm a big fan of the 80s. Wish I'd seen this topic earlier. :-)

Oh, and nice choice with Priest, @typo_tilly!
From one of my favourite movies
Michael Sembello - Maniac
Pat Benatar - Love is a Battlefield
# 3 on my all-time Metallica list behind One (paradoxically 2 on my list) and Nothing Else Matters at 1.
All this talk of vinyl too...I think I'll have to break out this album today.
Check the OP... it's ok to stray a bit from the 80s
Have we gone here yet? EDIT: I hate when an embed fails.
Here we go.
Night Ranger - Sister Christian
Sting - Fortress Around Your Heart
I think the version of the video on MTV had Sting walking through ruins.
Patty Smyth & the Scandals - The Warrior
The Buggles - Video Killed the Radio Star
Toto - Africa
Mr Mister - Broken Wings
