Yes. But I am a Fighter/Mage/Cleric, and my solo requirement prohibits me from getting an NPC to steal the extra copy.
I'm glad to see this thread got revived - it didn't die. As a matter of fact, I came here to post that I have exceeded my previous peak at the beginning of the Underdark. I had died from a random Maze that was cast instantly after having Chaotic Commands dispelled....and it kind of sucked my will to play. But I have indeed passed that peak an hour or two ago, and I will post a full update once I hit the surface. I am currently in the city of Ust Natha and I completed all three of the enemy-ridden areas of the Underdark (the Kuo-Toa shrine, the Beholder warrens and the Illithid prison).
