Problem with forums.beamdog.com security certificate

The warning only appears because we are using the https address instead of an http address and we are using it without a valid SSL certificate. The site is as safe as it was before we started using SSL for it.

Sending passwords over HTTP can't really be secured though. Using HTTPS is better even with an expired certificate.

I am pretty sure I flagged some spam yesterday, but I forget exactly when.

That's good. Forums were under maintenance a moment ago :)

Hmm, partially fixed, but please replace the SHA1 certificate with at least a SHA2 certificate. SHA1 has been deprecated for months now and all browsers will hesitate before loading the page....well, back to the old cert for now then :-)
At least consider a weekend admin, I am a 9th level Enterprise Admin so let me know. :)

I still get an invalid certificate in Opera. Appears to not be fixed from here. :(

@BelleSorciere Ditto for me, and I'm using Chrome.

I hope the issue gets fixed soon; I'm having to use Explorer to access the forums and it's not a pretty sight. :unamused:

Not fixed here. I got a little nervous, but logged on anyway. If i post a lot of crap the next few days, I might have been hacked

Firefox still throws up a warning about the certificate being expired. This is my first time visiting here since the issue arose so it isn't a cache issue on my end. You may have accidentally added a permanent exception elminster, since Firefox likes to default that option to enabled.

I am not sure you realize how serious this is guys. I figured it would get fixed early Saturday. It isn't 1998 any more, this position in dealing with security isn't helpful.

Monday morning, back up, thank you.

On an unrelated note, the new certificate is valid until 13/05/2017... It's a Saturday...

It depends. I have already seen the first spam bots at work.
