Explanation of my clues: 1. You can find his ale at three places in the game, from which one is by De'Trainon. 2. and 3. You need it once to gain the sea chart and once you can give it to the young boys at Umar Hills. 4. Both De'Trainon and the Concocter brew drinks. 5. You need the sea charts -you get in exchange of the ale- for the journey to the isle of Balduran.
1. You first meet me in the north, but I reappear in the south. 2. In the north, I only have rumors. In the south, I only have a sword to put in your back. 3. If the fight goes poorly, I don't stick around.
1. Brennan Risling is a character in Baldur's Gate whose only dialogue consists of a rumor about Sarevok. 2. He's also a thief in Athkatla, far south of Baldur's Gate, who deals some really dangerous backstabs if he or one of his friends is provoked. 3. If his friends are losing the fight, he flees.
1. My words are sweet, but I am sour. 2. You cannot see them, but my friends are nearby. 3. If you encounter me, the only way to avoid violence is to embrace it.
@semiticgod nope. Though the first clue certainly does fit him, doesn't it? I wouldn't choose someone so instantly recognizable, though, especially not one that makes me so mad.
Neville is a rather genial bandit you meet in the Bear River area. Of course, he still plans to bandit the heckie out of you.
Rationale for clues:
1. He speaks in a polite and even friendly manner, but the content of that speech is basically the same old bandit stuff, and he is very much about to kill you and take your stuff. 2. He is seemingly alone when he approaches you, but he has 5 hobgoblins with arrows trained on you hiding in the bushes nearby. In game terms, they spawn AFTER the fight starts. 3. There is one way to avoid a fight with him - if you try to turn the tables on him and announce your intention to kill him and take his stuff, he will be so amused by your audacity that he'll "let you live." He then steals some money from the party and ollies out before you can do anything.
He asks you for help against a bunch of gnolls - and if you're fast, you get to kill a few before he wipes the floor with them!
In BG2 you can ask for his help against Bodhi.
The last hint should be taken rather literally. If your main character is called "Drizzt" (CHARNAME = "Drizzt") and your reputation is below 12, he attacks you for ruining his reputation.
Married to Tymora - Tymora is the lady of luck, his name being Lucky Acolyte of Beshaba - Besheba is the goddess of bad luck and curses and most of his items are cursed Prays to Waukeen - He's a merchant verndor and Waukeen the (dead?) god of commerce
Good job @Montresor_SP ! As so many times before, you show the forums your epic level lore!
Great one, Skatan! It was the hints that clinched it for me.
- For almost two years I was alone, then I had a distant cousin. - Many years later I had another distant cousin. - I don't know much about adventuring.
Noober was the only one of his kind from 1998 until BG2 came out in 2000 and introduced Neeber. Nüber was added to the family with Siege of Dragonspear. And well ... despite 19 years of stoopid questions, he is still just as clueless as ever.

The boys give you money to buy it though

Later you may ask my help, and need it.
Depending on CHARNAME we may come to blows.

2. My name starts with A.
3. I'm good at riddles but sometimes my memory fails me.
2. I only aim to help out.
3. The first time, it will cost little money, the second 10x more.
Acolyte of Beshaba
Prays to Waukeen
@LadyEibhilinRhett: Nope, not him either.
Hmm it seems it was too difficult this time, unusal for my riddles which so far has been way to easy.
I kinda painted myself into a corner here so cannot easily add lines, but I'll add this:
The first ties to name
The second to effect
The third to profession
Married to Tymora - Tymora is the lady of luck, his name being Lucky
Acolyte of Beshaba - Besheba is the goddess of bad luck and curses and most of his items are cursed
Prays to Waukeen - He's a merchant verndor and Waukeen the (dead?) god of commerce

- My loss is your gain.
- You can't help but save me.
