I'm moving away from Edmonton this year for personal/family reasons, and given we need an in-house writing staff, I've put in my notice at Beamdog. This has been an amazing place to work and I'm sad to be leaving, especially because of all the great people I've met at the office and on the forums.
The timing's a little wonky, but for the best. With luck I'll circle back around to Beamdog from time to time and still be able to contribute to their awesome games.

I hope things will work out for you and your family.
We will miss you. Good luck on your new adventures!
We didn't expect to be moving quite so soon but the timing just lined up so we're taking the plunge. I will miss this crazy place, though.
Sorry to see you go -- enjoyed your videos. Thanks for your influence on SoD. Whether through your writings or from your discussions with colleagues we got some strong women characters in the game. So, again, thanks for that.
Annnnd. I'm guessing you've remained quiet about the gg thing because you don't want to hurt your fellow employees but, at some point, you need to write about this experience. That was an important event that needs to be documented and analyzed.
You're the cutest of Bards
I'd be lying if I said this year hasn't affected how I feel about working in video games, but none of that has to do with how Beamdog's treated me. This place has been unquestioningly, unfailingly supportive and I hate to leave it. I've been chatting with Trent about the possibility of coming back in a contract capacity from time to time, so that could happen.
Jason and I have been wanting to move to Penticton for a while and I'm excited to be heading there and being closer to my cute lil' guys. Also the sun, I'm happy I'll be living in a place with sun again. I have a novel that's been brewing for a time that I think is ready to write, so that's going to be my focus for now. And someday I'm sure I'll write more about the Dragonspear business, when I feel ready. (Though I did get interviewed by Cracked, which is cool. My comments in the article are pretty tepid because I was representing the company, but it's still pretty amazing. Should be up on the site soonish, I think.)
Carry on!
Live long and prosper.
Enjoy the sun!
